A Diablo 4-themed event for World of Warcraft (WoW) players called Winds of Sanctuary has been unleashed.

Blizzard has revealed all the details of the Winds of Sanctuary event for WoW, celebrating Diablo 4's launch.
"Even as the call for heroes in Sanctuary continues, back in Azeroth, all roads lead to the Dragon Isles—and to exciting adventures. To help you prepare for the trials ahead, you will get the benefit of the Winds of Sanctuary buff*, which will increase experience gains by 50% for all players through level 70, and reputation gains by 50% for all Dragon Isles factions except the Loam Niffen (who are not quite sure what to make of these strange winds). It’s a great time to finish leveling a character, create a new one, or invite friends to join you in your adventures."

WoW Winds of Sanctuary Dates & Times
Update: The Winds of Sanctuary buff will be available from June 15, 10:00 a.m. PDT through July 11, 2023 11:59 p.m. PDT for North American realms and from June 16, 3:00 a.m. AEST through July 12, 2023 4:59 p.m. AEST for Oceanic realms.

In the latest PTB build for WoW Dragonflight’s 10.1 update, WoWHead has found a hidden, Diablo 4-themed event, Winds of Sanctuary. This is, of course, not the first time that Blizzard has ushered in events themed around their other titles, and it probably won’t be the last.
At the time of writing, there’s no exact release date for the Winds of Sanctuary event in World of Warcraft. We do suspect, however, that it will not be on 2 May 2023 when the actual Embers of Neltharion update releases, but instead, around 2 to 6 June when Diablo 4 gets released.
6 June 2023 makes the most sense to us, as that would put the Diablo-themed WoW event in line with both the weekly server maintenance and the release of Diablo 4.
The event could also be named Welcome to Sanctuary, and the only description we have at the moment is from WoWhead’s data, which reads:
“Strange winds blow in from another world. Sightings of odd, bag-holding creatures spot the land, and heroes are filled with renewed vigor. Treasure Goblins can be spotted from TBD to TBD. The Winds of Sanctuary blow in from TBD to TBD.”
That’s not a lot to go on, but dataminers have already found some rewards for the WoW Winds of Sanctuary event.
Winds of Sanctuary WoW Diablo Event Rewards
There’s an account-wide achievement attached to the Winds of Sanctuary event in WoW Dragonflight called “Little Lord of Lies.” This is for those who become the owner of the new Baal’ial pet (some clever wordplay there, Blizzard!).
Furthermore, there are Diablo-themed items that WoW players can earn during the Winds of Sanctuary event, namely:
- Wirt’s Leg (1h Mace)
- Treasure Nabbin’ Bag (back piece themed around Treasure Goblins)
- Horadric Haversack (16-slot bag)
- Enmity Bundle (Hood and Cloak for Transmog)
Lastly, players can also expect a 50% experience buff during the Diablo-themed WoW event.
