Indeed, this glitch is rather broken, particularly if players are abusing overpowered streaks like Attack Dogs or Flamenaut in their games. Of course, only skilled players might be able to acquire these streaks in COD Vanguard -- although this doesn't make it any less unacceptable.
COD Vanguard Dead Drop glitch
According to senior Dexerto staff writer Jacob Hale on Twitter, players can reach a top killstreak, enable their Dead Drop Field Upgrade to use the killstreak. Then, when they die and respawn, they're one off the top streak again.
Think I've found a Dead Drop glitch that basically lets you earn unlimited streaks.— Jacob Hale (@JakeHaleee) November 20, 2021
Earn your top killstreak, pop Dead Drop, use the streak. Once you die and respawn, you'll be one off the top streak again? pic.twitter.com/vOMUN9lAPE
In the video clip, you can clearly see the player repeatedly using the Attack Dogs killstreak and that the player's killstreak was saved even after enemy players killed them.
Hale confirmed that after he "used Dogs and Dead Drop", he could "pop them again" an unlimited number of times after he respawned. Followingly, many other players echoed Hale's experience, saying that they also encountered the same glitch in their games.
"Been doing this since the drop lol just ravage the other team on shipment non-stop. Mortars, bombing run, dogs. Show the youngsters who run the game," said one Twitter user. Another user said, "I found this a week ago, and now it's gonna be hot patched. Doing the community a solid for sure."
One Twitter user said that he started doing it the night before and that "if you can get dogs once, you'll get them 3-4 times a map."
Hale subsequently replied, saying, "I did it a few days ago but just thought maybe I'd misunderstood something. [So I] started again last night and was just mocking it."
Given the critical nature of this glitch, we are sure that the developers will provide a fix in a future gameplay update. However, until then, you could encounter more skilled players abusing this glitch in your games.
