One of the best things about Call of Duty: Vanguard is the fact that the Zombies mode not only builds upon the story from Black Ops Cold War but is also developed directly by Treyarch, the studio that has introduced Zombies to the franchise.
Good ol' Zombie bashing is the perfect activity when spending some quality time with friends and family, as they are focused on cooperation rather than competition, even better if you can play Zombies in split-screen co-op mode.
Unfortunately, in this day and age couch co-op games are far and few in between, as gaming has almost completely switched to online play over the last decade, and not many games today support features for local gaming, like split-screen or LAN.
Thankfully, the Call of Duty franchise is known for its continuous support for split-screen all these years, and that support is present in COD Vanguard as well.
But do all modes have split-screen support? Let's find out.
Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer split-screen
COD Vanguard has full support for playing multiplayer in the split-screen mode, but only for consoles, which mean that you can play split-screen on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
If you are a PC player, at the time of writing you won't be able to play Vanguard multiplayer via split-screen, but that option might be added at a later date.
The split-screen mode supports up to four players, and if you want to play online, guest players will need to have their own PSN or Xbox Live accounts, with PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold subscriptions active, but that's not necessary for local play.
Can you play Vanguard Zombies split-screen?
Unfortunately, here comes the bad news. Despite the fact that the Zombies mode seems perfect for split-screen couch co-op, COD Vanguard doesn't support split-screen co-op for Zombies.
For a mode that is created with teamwork and co-op play in mind, it is really disappointing to see that, for the second year in a row, you won't be able to sit in your room with friends in front of a huge TV while playing split-screen Zombies.
We don't know if this option will be added later, but if Black Ops Cold War is any indicator, that will not happen.
So there you have it; when it comes to COD Vanguard split-screen support, you can play multiplayer, but not Zombies.
