London Royal Ravens drop Zer0 and coach Dominate from roster

Due to being stuck in the UK, player Zer0 and coach Dominate have been released from the London Royal Ravens roster.

Trei “Zer0” Morris and coach James “Dominate” Batz have been dropped by the London Royal Ravens, the team has announced.

Since the start of the 2021 Call of Duty League season, both Zer0 and Dominate have been stuck in the UK due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. With no resolution in sight, the London Royal Ravens has decided to drop them both from the team.

Michael “ODEE” O’Dell, chief gaming officer at parent company ReKTGlobal, said: “We are saddened by the need to part with Zer0 and Dominate as part of our organisation.

“Unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic prevented us from implementing our plan for the season since the beginning of Stage 1, by keeping Zer0 and Dom stuck in the UK. There is no clear solution for this problem in the foreseeable future, so we’ve been forced to make the decision to move forward without them. We wish them nothing but the best.”

Zer0 has since announced on Twitter he’ll compete in Call of Duty Challengers for the rest of the season.

It’s an unfortunate (if understandable) decision which follows a string of bad luck for the London Royal Ravens squad; with Alex “Alexx” Carpenter returning to his UK home too due to a family emergency.

There’s also been some significant roster shifts following poor results. After placing 9-10th in the CDL Stage 2 Major, Thomas “Dylan” Henderson was swapped out for rookie Alex “Zaptius” Bonilla. Other players like Zach “Zed” Denyer and Paul “PaulEHX” Avila have been drafted in over the course of the 2021 season, joining veteran player Sean “Seany” O’Connor.

The London Royal Ravens will continue Stage 3 play on Thursday 29th April, as they go up against New York Subliners at 8pm GMT.
