The Festive Fervor brings several limited-time game modes, events, rewards, and features leading up to the New Year celebrations, with a tonne of additional feature content. Festive Fervor is here to spread plenty of cheer across Call of Duty titles. So without any further ado, here's everything you need to know about the upcoming holiday event.
When does the Festive Fervor event start?
According to Activision's blog post, the Festive Fervor event will start on 16th December across COD Vanguard and Warzone Pacific, following an update to COD Vanguard on 16th December at 5 AM GMT and an update to Warzone Pacific on 17th December at the same time.
"Call of Duty will already be in the holiday spirit with 12 Festive Days of Deals starting on 14th December in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Pacific, as well as within a new season of Call of Duty: Mobile to be announced on 13th December."
Vanguard Warzone Festive Fervor: Game modes
There are three game modes rolling gout in the limited-time holiday event, including the reintroduction of a classic multiplayer mode.
Festive Fervor reintroduces a classic multiplayer mode previously known as "Drop Zone" in Call of Duty, which is a twist on Team Deathmatch. Teams will fight for control of a marked area in this exclusive COD Vanguard limited-time mode.
Care Packages will drop over a defined period and must be collected, at which point, the zone will rotate to a new location. Notably, points are only scored through kills and bonus points are awarded for kills earned via Killstreaks.
Elf Team Six
Operators can earn Killstreaks by seeking out and then destroying mischievous creatures from Elf Team Six. The elves are hidden around COD Vanguard's multiplayer maps and will open fire if they are not found in time.
Operators that successfully seek and destroy Elf Team Six members will earn match score and Killstreak progress, "a small gift that could help give your enemies something far worse than coal in their stockings."
Warzone Pacific will feature a similar game mode called "Elf and Seek," except squads will earn Double XP or a Calling Card.
Krampus is another game mode in COD Vanguard and Warzone Pacific, featuring a folklore creature "Krampus."
In COD Vanguard Multiplayer matches, Krampus will target players with the least impressive objective score, such as a "pathetic Hardpoint time or a disgracefully low number of Domination captures."
"If you're warned of Krampus's presence, then good luck: he won't hesitate to eliminate his target with an absolutely devastating (and humiliating) Finishing Move, although you might be able to defeat him before he delivers that powerful attack."
In Warzone Pacific, Krampus' target is "more random" but will tend to "hunt down those who received coal from the Holiday Crates." In addition, killing Krampus will release special permanent rewards, like increased chances of Legendary Supply Boxes or half-off Buybacks each day of this holiday event.
Vanguard Warzone Festive Fervor: Rewards
Several free rewards are available to players who participate in the Festive Fervor event.
For example, players who get in the holiday mood and complete all six challenges in COD Vanguard Multiplayer or Warzone Pacific can earn an Epic LMG Blueprint. Other rewards include a Battle Pass Tier Skip, a Double XP Token, and cosmetic rewards for your weapons and player profile.
In Caldera, players can also earn rewards through temporary landmarks called Festive Fir Trees scattered across the island and various points of interest.
Squads that stay within the Fir Tree's zone will cause several Supply Boxes to spawn, including special Holiday Crates that could contain Legendary items for that match, limited-time rewards, or even some coal for those Operators on the naughty list.
