WoW Dragonflight pre-order and release date?

Heroes of Azeroth are wondering when they can pre-order World of Warcraft's Dragonflight expansion, and when it will release. We tell you all.

WoW Dragonflight pre-order and release date?

The reveal of World of Warcraft (WoW)'s next expansion, Dragonflight, unveiled a brand new Dragon Isle area (including five unique zones), a new class/race combo, and much more. It also builds an incredible amount of hype for the MMORPG that just never seems to die. With hype for WoW: Dragonflight already building, many players might be wondering when pre-orders will open up, and when the next World of Warcraft expansion will release.

In this article, we explain what's happening (or not happening) with WoW: Dragonflight pre-order options, potential bonuses, and when the expansion could release.

Can you pre-order WoW: Dragonflight?

When announcing WoW: Dragonflight, one big change from previous expansion announcements was that Blizzard did not talk about pre-orders or any pre-order bonuses at all.

Generally, Blizzard announces pre-orders with World of Warcraft expansion reveals. For Dragonflight, this was not the case. Therefore, players can't pre-order WoW: Dragonflight right now.

Possible pre-order bonuses for WoW: Dragonflight include a Green Dragon mount, a pet and five different backpieces, as per a report via WoWHead thanks to some datamining. These could be part of the Deluxe Edition rewards for Dragonflight but nothing has been confirmed.

Please note that at the time of writing, gamers can't pre-order WoW: Dragonflight just yet. This should change in the months ahead, and we will update you with the latest information, including possible Editions, physical copies and digital pre-orders.

What is the WoW: Dragonflight release date?

At the time of writing, there is no official release date for the WoW: Dragonflight expansion Blizzard has only noted in the reveal stream that they will be starting alpha testing "soon".

Obviously, alpha testing happens first, followed up by beta testing. We don't expect the Dragonflight beta test to happen earlier than July 2022, with the full expansion likely to release at the end of the year, or in the first quarter of 2023. Currently, there is no official release date for the WoW: Dragonflight expansion.
