Dead By Daylight Teases First Look At New Killer For Chapter 31

Dead by Daylight has posted a series of cryptic updates relating to the Chapter 31 killer recently, the most recent of which actually provides a look at the killer themselves. It's just a brief glance, but viewers can identify a seemingly emaciated body moving across the ground in an unnatural way. The video appears to be from a stationary doorbell camera (like a Ring) and is in total black-and-white, making it even more challenging to see exactly what's going on. It was originally shared on Dead by Daylight's official Instagram and Facebook as a Story post.

Some fans theorize that the next killer will be a Skinwalker, and the recent updates seem to confirm their suspicions that it might indeed be a Skinwalker or something similar. Many have also pointed out that the chapter appears to take on aspects of analog/found footage horror.

The new video offering a look at the killer expands upon the lore that has been hinted at in other recent DBD Chapter 31 teasers, which feature text messages that mention a strange figure in someone's backyard as they text their partner. They're unable to get a good look at the monster, just like we're unable to do so in the video.

Developers have left a trail of hints to the next killer on their social media accounts, raising more speculation about this next killer than any other recent release. There have also been fewer leaks about this chapter than are typical, raising even more questions as to who the killer might be. As Chapter 31's release date approaches, it's likely we'll hear more about the killer's identity and their lore - and maybe even get a peek at the upcoming map.

For now, nothing is confirmed about the Chapter 31 killer's identity, but it's more than likely that they will be a cryptid such as a Skinwalker or another similar creature. Based on the nature of the teasers, it definitely seems like this chapter will be an original one.
