The semi-automatic tactical rifle was once one of the game's most popular guns when it was added from the Black Ops Cold War arsenal at the start of the year, and it was a total menace dominating lobbies often hand-in-hand with the MAC-10.
The following months saw a number of nerfs hit the gun until it was no longer the one-shot-kill rifle it once was, in fact, it become one of the game's most maligned weapons with its pick rate plummeting.
That was what Warzone developers, Raven Software, hoped to somewhat reverse with Warzone Season 5 Reloaded offering up a series of buffs to the weapon that, in their own words, promised to give the DMR 14 a "real resurgence".
However, it seems those changes were too drastic, as just a day later another patch has dropped nerfing the weapon.
🛠️ A #Warzone update is now live!— Raven Software (@RavenSoftware) September 9, 2021
Includes a Weapon adjustment and a few Bug Fixes.
The Season Five Reloaded Patch Notes have been amended (see September 9th):https://t.co/XcL1OQvZVcpic.twitter.com/KElixVVReR
The patch, which is now live on Warzone servers, has reduced the Neck Multiplier from 1.1 to 1 and the Upper Torso Multiplier decreased from 1.1 to 1.
It should be noted that this doesn't mean the gun is back to its pre-Season 5 Reloaded state, as the original buff was designed to help make the gun's recoil easier to control, so it may well be that with these tweaks to damage it will find itself still in a very viable place.
