Warzone Pacific AR tier list - Every assault rifle ranked from best to worst for Season 1.5

With the deeper knowledge we have acquired from extensively exploring the island of Caldera, we have found the best assault rifles available during the mid-season update of Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific.
Warzone Pacific AR tier list - Every assault rifle ranked from best to worst for Season 1.5

We are only a few days removed from the arrival of the mid-season update of Season 1 in Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific and, of course, that meant that some changes were made to some of the fan-favourite weapons.

That implied that we needed to do some extensive research once again to make sure that our loadouts were still top-notch giving us the best chance to claim victory when stepping foot on Caldera.

Probably the most important thing to build your loadout is figuring out your main gun, as we think that both short-distance weapons like shotguns and long-range arsenals like marksman rifles or sniper rifles are more situational so they should not be your main option.

The assault rifles, submachine guns or light machine guns are far more versatile in the midst of battle helping you grasp a better control of the situation while scanning your surroundings

To start off we will begin with probably the most used type of weapon, the ol’ reliable, the assault rifles as we rank them from best to worst based on how they have fared in Caldera’s first season.

We are not trying to take away the fun of playing the game and figuring everything out by yourself, this exercise is meant to help you out by reducing the experimenting time so you can have more time to enjoy yourself downing enemies.

By all means, keep testing combinations, attachments, equipment and perks every time you can so you take the Warzone experience to its apex, but without further ado let’s take a look at the best assault rifles available in Warzone Season 1.5.

Description of the tiers

  • S-Tier: The best of the best. Even with mediocre attachments, these guns are powerhouses that will blast enemies into smithereens.
  • A-Tier: These weapons are incredibly powerful and may closely rival weapons in the S-Tier if paired with the right attachments.
  • B-Tier: The middle of the pack ARs for Warzone Pacific. Using the perfect loadout allows you to compete with players boasting the A-Tier weapons. These are great for specific situations or playstyles.
  • C-Tier: These ARs shouldn't be your primary weapon and should be used circumstantially with another weapon or require adept level skill to shine.
  • D-Tier: This is labelled the "trash tier" weapons list. You should not include ARs in this tier in your loadout at all.

S-Tier

The STG44 stays in the main table as part of the S-Tier, being one of the most powerful ARs in the game. (Picture: Activision)
  • AK-47 (CW)
  • STG 44
  • XM4
  • FARA 83
  • M4A1
  • Krig 6
  • Grau 5.56

This is probably the most populated weapon S-tier that we have in any of our tier lists, as there are several great assault rifles but there are a couple among them that could have a tier on their own like the AK-47, the XM4 and the STG44.

Strictly speaking, based on our tier descriptions, any of those weapons are really effective with or without attachments.

A-Tier

The EM2 remains a very good option to utilize in Caldera. (Picture: Activision)
  • EM2
  • C58
  • Grav
  • M13
  • Volk
  • Cooper Carbine
  • BAR

Just like the S-tier, the A-tier enjoys a very abundant variety of selections which will be fun for you to try out and get a hold of the recoil patterns, TTK and other variables before you pick the one for you.

The EM2 was dominating a couple of seasons ago before some nerfing, while both the Volk and the BAR are very close to jumping to the S-tier based on their reliability and balance.

The Cooper Carbine had a very shaky ranking the first time we included it but we think it has settled pretty smoothly and it fits nicely in this tier.

B-Tier

The CR-56 AMAX remains a step behind the top assault rifles in Warzone Pacific. (Picture: Activision)
  • FFAR 1
  • RAM-7
  • QBZ-83
  • CR-56 AMAX
  • AS VAL
  • Kilo 141
  • ITRA Burst
  • Fedorov Avtomat

Right in the middle of the pack, we have eight assault riffles that need serious help from the right attachments to become effective in the vast immensity of Caldera.

There are two weapons in particular that were massively downgraded with nerf in past seasons as both the CR-56 AMAX and the FFAR 1 don’t have the firepower now to go hand in hand with other weapons in the upper tiers.

C-Tier

The Groza is an interesting assault rifle but works better in smaller maps like Rebirth Island instead of Caldera. (Picture: Activision)
  • AN-94
  • NZ-41
  • Groza
  • FN Scar 17
  • FAL (Assault Rifle Bravo)
  • AS44

We enter the abyssal zone, where darkness reigns and none of these weapons will get you a Warzone victory.

Nonetheless, there is one particular gun that has some nice performance in smaller areas but just lacks the firepower that is necessary to be the last man standing in Caldera. That weapon is the Groza, which with the right attachments could escalate a couple of tiers if we were talking about a tier list for Rebirth Island.

D-Tier

We would love to see Oden buffed, but until then, it remains stuck in our D Tier. (Picture: Activision)
  • Oden
  • FR 5.56
  • AK-47 (MW)

This section is written for mere respect that these guns exist within Warzone, but make no mistake, our recommendation is to go nowhere near them.

Unless you want to play a cruel joke on a COD newbie when helping them build a loadout we cannot believe there is a player that would purposely select any of these weapons.

We will keep testing everything that comes in the future as Season 2 is closely lurking its way onto us, meanwhile, we will keep a close look on Call of Duty official social media to keep track of all the changes that should enhance the game experience for everyone.
