Best Sniper Rifle Builds In Escape from Tarkov

Escape from Tarkov is filled with great sniper rifles, but these are the best builds!
Best Sniper Rifle Builds In Escape from Tarkov
Battlestate Games

Escape from Tarkov, home of the free and land of the dead, all due to everlasting patience and sharpshooting capabilities of snipers. Escape from Tarkov provides a vast and open sniping experience, arguably the most realistic and enjoyable sniping simulation available on the gaming market, having players use almost exact recreations of rifles used around the world today in active warfare. Although weapons in Escape from Tarkov come in all shapes and sizes, sniper rifles are not exempt from the modding system behind most excellent weapons in the game.

Players are truly tested when trying to modify a sniper rifle, often not understanding the mechanics and attachments of their weapon, then falling victim on the battlefields. Most players don't specifically use bolt-action sniper rifles within Escape from Tarkov due to their incompetence, instead, modifying M4s or DMRs such as the M1A to meet their sniping requirements, however, nothing can beat the raw power of a rifle such as the Mosin or DVL.

Before continuing with this guide, please ensure you have the following:

  • Level fifteen of above - access to Flea market
  • Obtain Workbench level one in the hideout - access to the weapon modification screen
  • 250K Roubes (spare) - to pay for at least one of the Sniper builds below

Where these requirements aren't necessary, it will make your life incredibly easier. Players who don't obtain the flea market will have to find these attachments in-raid; the workbench will have less visual aid when building the weapon, and these builds will cost around 250k roubles per.

NOTE: THIS GUIDE IS FOR SNIPER RIFLES NOT DMRs

ORSIS_T-5000m

Escape from Tarkov Best Sniper Rifles: ORSIS T-5000M

The ORSIS T-5000M is known by all, and used by few. This sniper rifle packs raw power into every round it releases, allowing players to cope with distances up to 900m without trouble, helping with long-range situations on maps such as Reserve, Shoreline, Lighthouse, and Woods, being the go-to rifle when trying to eliminate the Lighthouse Scav boss and access the Lightkeeper.

Here are the following attachments required for the rifle:

Attachment Type Attachment Name
Silencer SilencerCo Hybrid 46 Multi-caliber sound suppressor
Mount Adapter SilencerCo Hybrid 46 Direct Thread Mount Adapter
Scope Burris FullField TAC30 1-4x24 30mm riflescope
Scope Mount Lobaev Arms 30mm Scope Mount
Tactical attachment  Wilcox RAPTAR ES Tactical Rangefinder

These attachments will provide smooth sailing within the sniping world of Escape from Tarkov, allowing you to coast effortlessly from bush to bush taking heads upon heads. Although appearing obvious to some players, the silencer isn't just for stealth, the Hybrid 46 allows for increased precision and barrel length, sending the bullet into the battlefield with more precision, raising your chances of hitting the enemy and therefore killing them.

Additionally, the TAC30 1-4x24 30mm riflescope has been selected for a very specific reason: adaptivity. Players will typically make huge mistakes with scopes, having them too magnified and not allowing for mid or even close-range engagements. Why would you embrace fighting when you're equipped with an 8x magnified scope, the chances of survival are minimal, however, you might have a higher chance of occasionally hitting that cross-map shot.

Lobaev_Arms_DVL-10

Escape from Tarkov Best Sniper Rifles: DVL-10

This is the most basic yet essential sniper rifle built within Escape from Tarkov, it comes cheap and reliable. To most, the AR-15 Tactical Dynamics Hexgrip Pistol Grip seems odd, however, this overall improves the ergonomics of the sniper rifle, improving the ability to remain scoped for longer periods. Additionally, the simple use of an EOTech Vudu 1-6x24 30mm rifle scope enables mid and closer-range engagements if needed.

Here are the following attachments required for the rifle:

Attachment Type Attachment
Scope EOTech Vudu 1-6x24 30mm rifle scope
Mount Nightforce magmount 30mm ring scope mount
Pistol Grip AR-15 Tactical Dynamics Hexgrip Pistol Grip
Muzzle DVL-10 7.62x51 Muzzle Break
Magazine DVL-10 7.62x51 10-round magazine

Some players prefer the DVL-10 with the integrated suppressor, but the vanilla version of the weapon deems more viable due to the increase in muzzle velocity, the integrated suppressor only hinders the weapon instead of improving it. Using this rifle will alert players due to its loud and explosive firing, therefore it's recommended to reposition after every one-three rounds, ensuring you're never become identified and found by enemies.

The choice of not using a suppressor is difficult, however, in the DVL-10s case, it's better to go without. The rifle is simply too reliable and great of a weapon to pass from this guide, therefore earning it a spot and recommendation to players such as yourself. Learning how to operate without a suppressor is a vital skill, best start learning now as most players can't survive more than five minutes without a suppressor.

Mosin

Escape from Tarkov Best Sniper Rifles: Mosin

The Russian Mosin Nagant was reliable since its design in 1891 and responsible for many deaths within the Tarkov Region. Many may question "Why not the SV-98?" Well, because no other rifle has been performing accurately and oppressing modernity like the Mosin. This weapon is high caliber, accurate, cheap, lightweight, and accessible by all players regardless of their level, making it the most used and loved weapon on this list.

Here are the following attachments required for the rifle:

Attachment Type Attachment
Scope  ELCAN SpecterDR 1x/4x scope
Mount Mosin Rifle Kochetov Mount
Pistol Grip Mosin Rifle Tacfire Pistol grip
Suppressor Mosin Rifle Bramit 7.62x54R sound suppressor
Rail Mount  Mosin Rifle Arbalet Patriot K+W rail Mount
Front sight Mosin Rifle front sight

The rifle has an incredibly strange appearance after modifying it, especially when using the pistol grip to raise the ergonomics of the sniper rifle. The use of the ELCAN SpecterDR 1x/4x scope allows for a diverse experience, allowing players to operate this rifle on every Escape from Tarkov map, including Labs! The only inconvenience players will experience is the need to buy so many different mounts to equip the scope, having to include two separate parts just put the attachment on the rifle, although once complete everything appears worth it.

This guide isn't ranked, each sniper rifle is unique and beneficial in its own way, although over my experience playing Escape from Tarkov through the last few years, I'd rank the builds and weapons from best (1) to worst (3) this way:

  1. Mosin - the most reliable and cheap weapon, the victor
  2. ORSIS T-5000M - Excellent at long-range combat, no need to relocate often
  3. DVL-10 - Expensive, takes out anything within crosshairs up to a kilometer.

These rifles are all incredibly high achievers within Escape from Tarkov, using them will guide you to a greater level of playing and keep you on top of your competition, especially with these builds!
