Warzone's pay-to-win invisible skin still isn't fixed after 2 weeks

The "Awoken" invisibility glitch is running unchecked in Warzone Pacific since the start of Season 1 and it seems that it won't be fixed at least until 2022.

Call of Duty: Warzone has been riddled with bugs since the release of the Pacific update, and players' patience is wearing thin.

From the zero damage Melee glitch and graphics texture issues to constant crashing, it seems like not a day goes by without some new annoying bug being discovered.

On 28th December Raven Software, Warzone developers, have released a new event update for the game, which has only further infuriated players who were expecting to see a more substantial patch that will address many issues that are currently plaguing the game.

One particularly troublesome glitch is currently ruining matches in Warzone Pacific, and players are baffled by the fact that weeks after it was encountered Raven still hasn't patched it out.

The legendary "Awoken" operator skin for Francis is acquired by reaching Tier 100 of the premium battle pass in Season 1, and it is available for use in both Warzone and Vanguard, just like all other cosmetics earned through the battle pass.

In Vanguard, this skin is working as intended, but in Warzone players have labelled Awoken as a pay-to-win skin, and rightfully so. That's because the skin will make those who are using it almost completely invisible past 35 meters distance.

Given that you can only access this skin if you have bought the premium battle pass and already grinded through all 100 tiers, it's clear that this skin is currently providing a significant advantage to those who have spent money on the game, thus making it a pay-to-win skin.

The only thing which remains visible is the skin's characteristic reddish mask, making him appear as a floating head with a gun. Asides from looking scary, the skin essentially works as a cheat code for those who are using it, rendering them invisible to other players.

The 28th December update, and probably the last Warzone Pacific update of 2021, hasn't addressed the issue, leaving the player base to suffer at least another week playing against invisible players.

A problem of such magnitude should be a top priority for any developers, something that should have been hot fixed two weeks ago, and yet, developers are ignoring even to acknowledge its existence.

The question has been brought up by frustrated content creators as well. The New York Subliners' streamer and content creator, Swish, expressed her dissatisfaction with the current situation.

"How have they not fixed the invisible skin in Warzone yet?" she tweeted.

We can only assume that Raven is working on fixing it, but they are probably not yet sure what is causing the glitch to happen, and thus there's no fix yet. But, if that's the case, then the "Awoken" skin should have been disabled until they find the cause and fix the issue.
