Best M1928 gunsmith loadout for COD Vanguard

The M1928 (otherwise known as the "Tommy") is a powerful A-tier submachine gun with a deadly burst fire rate. What better way to harness its full power than with the best gunsmith loadout for COD Vanguard?

The Call of Duty (COD) Vanguard beta boasts a slew of interesting content, including new mapsperkskillstreaksequipment and exciting game modes for players to enjoy. In addition to this, there is an array of weapons to choose from, all of which stem from the World War 2 era and can be used to blow enemies into smithereens.

The M1928 (otherwise known as the "Tommy") is a powerful submachine gun (SMG) with a deadly burst fire rate. It's therefore no doubt that the M1928 is in our A-Tier list of SMGs to use in COD Vanguard beta. This SMG does pack quite a bit of recoil but is easily fixed with the right setup. Speaking of which, here's the best M1928 gunsmith class setup at the start of COD Vanguard beta.

The following gunsmith loadout is adapted from Charlie Intel, with a few minor tweaks and is the best class setup for the M1928 at the start of the COD Vanguard beta.

  • Muzzle: M9 Flash Hider
  • Barrel: Chariot 2.5” Rapid
  • Optic: Spitfire MK.3 Reflector
  • Stock: CGC S Adjustable
  • Underbarrel: M1941 Handstop
  • Magazine: .45 ACP 30 Round Fast Mags
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Fabric Grip
  • Proficiency: Frenzy
  • Kit: Quick

As previously mentioned in our BAR gunsmith loadout, muzzle attachments will work differently in COD Vanguard beta and will primarily be used for recoil control. The M9 Flash Hider will reduce the recoil of the M1928 and allow for better control during firing.

This will come at the expense of ADS speed but we can compensate for this by attaching the Fabric Grip Rear Grip attachment for a boost in Sprint to Fire and ADS speed.

You can bolster the M1928's already great firing rate with the Chariot 2.5" Rapid Barrel for those close-quarter sprays. You may also want to pair this with the CGC S Adjustable Stock for improved mobility by boosting Sprint to Fire time and movement speed.

After improving the M1928's burst fire rate you will need to attach an optic to ensure those shots land in the right place. Right now, the M1928 headshot damage multiplier is off the charts so it's best to take full advantage of this, while you still can. This can be achieved by equipping the Spitfire MK.3 Reflector Optic for additional magnification and accuracy whilst ADSing.

The M1941 Handstop Underbarrel attachment serves a similar purpose and is imperative for compensating for the accuracy dropoff from the CGC S Adjustable Stock. If you don't have this attachment unlocked then you can go with the Carver Foregrip instead.

The .45 ACP 30 Rnd Fast Mags are recommended to increase the reload speed of the M1928, which should be paired with the Lengthened Ammo Type to bolster bullet velocity beyond lethal speeds. This will allow the M1928 to maintain its damage output potential during longer-range engagements.

The final attachments for this loadout are the Frenzy Proficiency and the Quick Kit attachments (or perks, really) which will grant health regeneration upon securing kills and passively while moving about. The Quick Kit attachment will also boost movement speed.

And there you have it, the best M1928 loadout for COD Vanguard beta.

This loadout demonstrates the extent to which weapons can be customized in COD Vanguard. With so many different combinations and attachments to choose from, players have a lot more freedom to experiment with setups that best suit their playstyle.

Don't believe us? Take a look at the video by the YouTuber Paradox, who secured 117 kills with a completely different M1928 setup.
