How to fix Diablo 2 Resurrected beta "Failed to authenticate" on Xbox
A number of Xbox players is having a problem playing Diablo 2 Resurrected beta, as they are getting a message that reads: "Failed to authenticate".
The game downloads and starts fine, the opening cinematic plays as normal, but once the game actually needs to start, instead of the starting menu, the game simply shows the "Failed to authenticate" error message.
Luckily, this is not a big issue and there's an easy and quick fix for this problem.
The solution is rather simple, all you need to do is to reset your Xbox console, and once you turn it on again, it will show you that there's a big update, the Diablo 2 Resurrected open beta patch.
Just download that update, make sure that it is installed properly (restart your Xbox once more, just in case), and start the beta again.
Your game should now work normally, and you will not encounter the "Failed to authenticate" message anymore, as you have the latest version of Diablo 2 Resurrected beta build.
Xbox was unable to authenticate Diablo 2 Resurrected because it was not the proper version, and that's why you were getting that message.
There you have it, the fix for the Diablo 2 Resurrected beta "Failed to authenticate" error. Now you can relax and enjoy the game!
Diablo 2 Resurrected will officially release on 23rd September on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X /S and PC (Battle.net).
