As the epic comic book event between the Avengers and the X-Men continues in the latest season of the card battler, Marvel Snap, developer Second Dinner adds new cards weekly that can turn the tide for the Avengers or X-Men. The latest card coming to the aid of the Avengers is S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, codenamed Mockingbird, which brings her highly trained skillset to the game, which synergizes quite well with various deck archetypes and cards.

Despite its high cost and equally high power, players can get Mockingbird into play quite early, provided that the card's conditions are met so that they can utilize its ability. We'll explore what players must know about Mockingbird, including its ability, how to get the card, and some of the best viable decks to play in Marvel Snap.

Marvel Snap Mockingbird Card Abilities Explained

The tenacious S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird has finally spread her wings and soared to Marvel Snap to provide her expertise and capabilities for Team Avengers. In the current season, which pits the Avengers against the powerful mutant ensemble, the X-Men, the "relentless champion" will be a great asset for her teammates, utilizing her "deadly combat skills and an enhanced biology" knowledge to give S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers an upper hand and secure a victory.

Her in-game abilities are strikingly similar to those in the comics, as all cards that didn't start the game in their deck will reduce Mockingbird's cost by one. Players can play Mockingbird fairly early by playing cards that either put cards onto the board or grant them more cards entering their hands.

To acquire the card, Mockingbird can currently be claimed from the Spotlight Cache, whose keys can be obtained through the Collection Level. Additionally, as a Series 5 card, it's also available to purchase from the in-game Shop for 6,000 Collector's Tokens.

Best Marvel Snap Mockingbird Decks: Mockingbird Zoo

As Mockingbird is poised to be a dependable card, granted it meets certain conditions, it can be slotted perfectly well for Zoo archetype decks. This deck has been designed to flood the board with as many one-cost cards as possible, which are significantly buffed with Ka-Zar and Blue Marvel to spread power evenly across three locations, and Mockingbird can aid in that endeavor.

This updated variation of the Zoo deck from notable content creator SafetyBlade omits Ka-Zar for valuable tech cards like Armor and Shang-Chi, which Armor can protect valuable one-cost cards from Killmonger like Ant-Man and other cards generated when playing Shanna the She-Devil. Shang-Chi will help destroy any 10 Power cards that may steal location priority, which can be followed up with Blue Marvel.

Along with Ant-Man, which grants a location +4 Power when full, players can opt to play Mojo in the same or adjacent lanes for a further power gain. The same can be said for Dazzler, which grants them +2 Power when a location is full. Once Valkyrie is on the board, players can bolster low-powered cards, including The Hood.

Best Marvel Snap Mockingbird Decks: Thanos Bird

Zoo decks aren't the only archetype that can benefit from the inclusion of Mockingbird, as the card can provide great synergy in Thanos decks, especially this specific deck from SafetyBlade. Each Infinity Stone generated with the Thanos card will reduce Mockingbird's cost within the first two or three rounds, allowing players to get the card onto the board and making room for some high plays.

These plays can be made more effective by adding Psylocke and Hope Summers, the latter of which grants them +1 Energy for the next turn to get Cull Obsidian into play. This opens the door for Skaar to play the following turn or other important high-powered cards like Vision and Blob, but be aware that Shang-Chi can blast Cull Obsidian, Skaar, and Blob off the board.

However, having Shang-Chi too can help players get rid of those cards with 10 Power and higher to ensure they can gain location priority before moving Vision to that location. Magneto can also move 3 and 4 cost cards away from key locations to help them snag a victory, especially when played early, thanks to Hope Summers.

Best Marvel Snap Mockingbird Decks: Bird Of Mischief

As the name suggests, which is of our making, pairing Mockingbird with cards that give them cards into their hand helps them meet Mockingbird's condition. The key card in this endeavor is Loki, the aforementioned God of Mischief, which, when played, transforms their hand with cards from their opponent and reduces their cost by one.

This mischievous deck from notable content creator DenHearthstone also pairs Mockingbird and Loki with other essential cards like Cable, Agent Coulson, and Moon Girl, which help players draw cards and place them into their hands. Together with Quinjet, it reduces cards' cost by one if they didn't start from the deck, and The Collector, which gains +1 Power for cards that go into players' hands from anywhere, not the deck, to consistently gain power at a location while making Mockingbird more viable to play.

Do sure to have tech cards like Mobius M. Mobius, which prevents players from having their cards' costs increased from sources like Iceman or The Ice Box location, while Shang-Chi helps get rid of 10 Power and higher cards from claiming location priority. Likewise, Rogue can be utilized to mitigate Ongoing cards from similar conditions or remove Quinjet, Zabu, and Devil Dinosaur's abilities, as the latter increases its power by two for every card they have in their hand and may help steal priority before the game ends.
