What Is GTA V RP And How To Play

GTA Online is a game that has been out for a couple of years. GTA Online is based on the map that Rockstar made for Grand Theft Auto V and, for an online component, has a lot of content thanks to the various DLC that has been dropped over the years. On top of that, there are a lot of in-game events that appear frequently that players can take advantage of.

But players like enjoying video games their own way and some go as far as modding the games to give them a different way to enjoy things. One avenue to enjoy GTA Online is through Roleplay Servers. Here, we are going to go over RP servers, how to join them, how to play on them, and what to expect when you join.

What Is GTA RP?

GTA RP are servers modified to create an environment where players can roleplay as characters in GTA Online rather than having the normal GTA Online experience. For example, speaking in an RP server will only be heard by those within your proximity rather than the entire server. In these servers, depending on the rules, you are supposed to speak as a character rather than as yourself.

The character you play as completely depends on you and the server you join. Some players enjoy going around robbing banks with their own RP gang. Others like to play as a cop to chase down RP gangs and try to bring them to jail. Some servers even create an environment where players can do heavy cop investigations against other players. A lot of GTA RP is very dependent on the creativity of the players and the makers of the servers. A server that is heavily modified can be very immersive for your experience.

How To Join A GTA RP Server

Now that you have an idea of what GTA RP is, how do you exactly get into it? Some servers are open to the public while others have a very strict whitelist of who can play. Some will require you to create an application to join while others you can join at any time. Most of these servers are hosted on a program called FiveM which was recently acquired by Rockstar Games.

There are a lot of RP servers that are available. The biggest to date is the NoPixelserver which has both a whitelist server and public servers. GTA World and Eclipse RP are also very popular. The important thing about joining an RP server is to find one that matches what you want to experience. Each RP servers have its own rules and mods that will give players a different experience. Make sure you do your research to find an RP server that suits your needs.
