UPDATE December 22 - The Candy Cane weapon is now live in GTA Online and available to all players for free simply for logging into the game. What a wonderful gift from Rockstar Games.
In GTA Online, Rockstar is no stranger to filling out online servers with holiday specials and treats. From new cars to new thematic clothing, GTA Online players have no shortage of how they can show off their style in the game.
One of the things that Rockstar loves to add is special weapons that players can look forward to collecting. This holiday season is no different. Players can expect to get a brand new candy cane melee weapon during this holiday season.
How To Get The Candy Cane Weapon In GTA Online
With the release of the Los Santos Drug Wars DLC, data miners went to work to see what else they could find within the game’s data. Thankfully, they hit the jackpot, and players can look forward to the future. Twitter user GTABase found this in the data files of GTA Online:
As you can see, this is a candy cane like you would see any other. After looking at the data files though, they can clearly tell that this candy cane is listed as a melee weapon. That means players will be able to use this candy cane weapon to beat up other players or NPCs in a festive manner. According to the leaks, this will be part of GTA Online’s Christmas celebrations.
At the moment, it is unknown exactly how players can obtain this candy cane weapon. More than likely, players will have to play through some holiday content to get the opportunity to get the candy cane weapon. So be on the lookout for holiday updates from Rockstar.
When Will The Candy Cane Weapon Be Available In GTA Online?
Players can very likely expect the candy cane weapon to be available by the end of 2022.
Since the candy cane weapon is supposed to be released for the Christmas celebrations in GTA Online, players can definitely expect to get the weapon before the year ends. We imagine it will be released with the next event week update, which we suspect is coming on 22 December 2022.
