First things first, emotes are actually not called emotes in GTA Online. In this game, they are called character actions.

Knowing that is pretty important because that will help you set up your actions for GTA Online. The first thing you need to do is set up your actions so you can use them.

First off, you need to go to the interaction menu or go to options in the pause menu. Once you are there, you hit the style menu. Once you do that, go to select action. From there, you can check out the various actions in GTA Online and set one up.

Once you have chosen your action, close out of the menu. Then when you are ready, you can now use your new action. For console/controller players, you push both thumbsticks to do the action. On PC, it is your caps key.
