GTA Online: How To Drill

There are a lot of different heists in GTA Online, with a large number of different targets that you want to steal. To break into any facility, you have to use any number of tools that are available to you. From the Diamond Casino to Cayo Perico, there will be a large number of mini-games for you to complete a break-in.

One of the more common things you will have to do during a heist in GTA Online is break into safes using a power drill. If you do not know how to use the power drill, you are missing out on a lot of potential cash. So we have created this guide to help you learn how to drill in GTA Online.

The Basics Of Using A Drill

Although GTA Online is a very high-action game, drilling is something that you need to slow down and be careful with. Slow and steady wins the race is the key to completing the drilling minigame.

If you are using a controller, holding down the R2 button all the way is the way to go. This will give your drill the maximum power it can use. But that does not mean you just shove the drill into whatever you are breaking into. You need to gently push the drill in using your left stick.

These two actions need to be done together in unison, or you will overheat the drill, slowing down your progress of breaking in. That could be disastrous if you are on a time limit. So players need to be gentle, but they also need to be consistent, so they do not slow down.

When Do I Drill In GTA Online?

There are two major points where drilling is a very important skill to know in GTA Online. The two main associated jobs are the Fleeca Job and the Diamond Casino Heist. In both of these jobs, you will need to drill to get to the loot.

They both function the same way, even though the drill looks different. Just be gentle, or else you are not going to get to the loot.
