Get ready, heroes of Sanctuary! Diablo 4's first-ever holiday event has been announced. It is called Midwinter Blight, and it starts in December 2023 to bring you some holiday cheer and a lot of loot!

In this guide, we outline everything we know so far about Diablo 4's Midwinter Blight 2023 event, from the exact release date to rewards and where the event's quest will begin, so let's leap in.

Announced at BlizzCon 2023, Midwinter Blight has a release date of 12 December 2023, following a server maintenance period. The event will run for three weeks, until 2 January 2024.

The only official description Blizzard has provided thus far reads:

Ever wonder what the holidays are like in Sanctuary? Well, now you can find out in our first seasonal event, Midwinter Blight, beginning on December 12 and lasting for three weeks. Trudge through the snow-laden, winter terror-land of Fractured Peaks, and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a mysterious, red-cloaked terror!

We do, however, have some more information to share about Diablo 4's Midwinter Blight event, including its location in Sanctuary and the types of rewards players can earn.

It's pretty easy to guess where the Midwinter Blight holiday event will occur in Diablo 4's Sanctuary. Yes, the Midwinter Blight's location is Fractured Peaks. Players will start their quest to slay the red-cloaked terrors in Kyovashad, Diablo 4's main city hub in the Fractured Peaks region.

At the time of writing, we are 99% sure the event is open to all players, no matter their level, as some of the rewards have been datamined to have a level 1 requirement.

The image above showcases some of the cosmetic rewards players will be able to get during the Midwinter Blight event. This Diablo 4 holiday event will also feature limited-time crafting material in the form of a Red-Cloaked Trophy, which players can "recover from the bloodied corpse of the Red-Cloaked Horror."

There will also be different rewards in the form of caches, with various levels of Midwinter Spoils, which contain Armor, Gem Fragments, and a potential dose of Gileon's Brew.
