With the release of Diablo 4 Season 2 (Season of Blood) on 17 October 2023, we say goodbye to Season of the Malignant. It is, therefore, the first time Diablo 4 players will see a seasonal transition take place, and some are wondering what happens to their seasonal Stash items.

In this no-nonsense guide, we explain what will happen to Stashed items of seasonal characters as a new Diablo 4 season is released and what you should know about the Withdraw Only Stash tab.

Everyone and their cat probably know by now that at the end of a Diablo 4 season, the progress you've made with a seasonal character is kept. Your seasonal character is transferred to the Eternal Realm automatically, where you can continue playing with it and all the items you've acquired, with the exception of seasonal items, for example, Malignant Hearts in Season 1. Blizzard explains:

With Season of the Malignant coming to an end, we want to ensure your hard-earned gear transfers to the Eternal Realm with you. Once Season of the Malignant ends, all Seasonal characters will be transferred to the Eternal Realm.

Thankfully, the items you've hoarded in your Stash will also carry over. There is, however, a caveat that players should be aware of.

How To Withdraw Seasonal Stash Items

After a Diablo 4 season ends, you will find your seasonal character on the Eternal Realm. When you head to your Stash in any town, you will see a new Withdraw Only Stash tab, which will have all your items farmed during the previous season.

The caveat is that if you want to keep all your items, you will need to take them out of the Withdraw Only Stash Tab tab before the current season ends. For example, Diablo 4 Season 1 items in the Withdraw Only Stash tab will remain there until the end of Season 2 (somewhere in January 2024).

If you do not withdraw all your seasonal items and the latest season ends, they will be "unrecoverable," according to the developers.

In case you've been stuck fighting the hordes of the Burning Hells and missed it, check out the developer livestream featuring all the content, changes, and quality-of-life improvements in Diablo 4 Season 2 (Season of Blood) below.

Take this article and its information as a PSA: Withdrawl your seasonal Stash items from the Withdraw Only tab before the end of the current season, or they will be lost forever!
