To say that some Diablo 4 players are not happy about all the changes in the Season 1 Patch 1.1 update is an understatement. One of the “undocumented” changes, which was spotted by users following the update on 18 July 2023, showed level requirements being added to access World Tier 3 (Nightmare) and World Tier 4 difficulty levels.
This is no longer the case, so take this news as a PSA: World Tier level requirements are being removed.
Diablo 4 World Tier Level Requirements Removed
Players could previously enter World Tier 3 and 4 as soon as they completed the related Capstone dungeon, and it was used as a power-level tactic thanks to a high-level character boosting a low-level one.
While players have been up in arms about the new Diablo 4 World Tier level requirements (40 for Nightmare and 60 for Torment), Blizzard is backtracking on the decision.
IcyVeins tweeted out a post noting the level requirement findings late at night on 19 July 2023. Following some review-bombing Diablo 4 players, Blizzard’s Community Manager, Adam “PezRadar” Fletcher, responded to Iceveins’ tweet, stating:
We will be removing the level requirement for World Tier 3 & 4.
This removal will likely take place very soon via a Diablo 4 Hotfix update.
The exact level requirements to move to World Tier 3 and 4 have been found, at 40 and 60. The change arrived for new characters after the patch, as your Capstone dungeon clear won’t register before those levels. https://t.co/RUQ39CQslf#Diablo#DiabloIVpic.twitter.com/wN3nrTnDAb

Yes, everyone can calm down now; your power-leveling tactics are still valid. Blizzard also made several changes to World Tier bonuses, monster level scaling, and XP gains, in case you missed it.
