Diablo 4 Avarice World Boss Location & Spawn Time

On your world map, a timer will start 10 minutes before Avarice is set to spawn, giving you enough time to invite some friends along, as up to 12 players can take on this massive Diablo 4 world boss.

How To Beat Avarice in Diablo 4

Yes, players have been able to solo Avarice in Diablo 4. This is, however, an incredibly difficult feat, and we suggest that most players bring along several friends for a real shot at beating Avarice. You will have 15 minutes to beat Avarice before the world boss fight is over and it despawns.

Avarice has multiple phases, each one more difficult to survive than the last. Entering a new phase is signified by the arrow on the boss' health bar turning grey and flipping upside down, and you'll also see changes in behavior as Avarice becomes more aggressive.

The first and arguably most important thing you need to know about beating Avarice is that players should work together to throw out Crowd Control effects to fill the boss' Stagger Bar. Once it is filled, Avarice will be immobilized and completely useless for 12 seconds. At this point, throw out the highest DPS skills you can. The unique stagger mechanic for Avarice is that it spawns two Treasure Goblins. On your first kill attempt, we suggest keeping the focus on the boss and not running after Treasure Goblins, losing valuable DPS time.

Avarice has a wide range of skills to smack players with. Arguably the most powerful skill is its signature Portal Charge. The world boss summons a portal and makes its way through it, dealing minor damage. However, once the portal opens again a few seconds later, Avarice charges out, and if you are hit by this charge, you will die, guaranteed.

Players should also watch out for its Chest Swing ability, where Avarice swings the treasure chest in a 360-degree AOE effect. The boss further uses its Mallet to slam and thrust, which should be avoided. These attacks are, at the very least, well-telegraphed.

Most attacks can be avoided by standing at Avarice's backend, next to its feet. We do suggest that players run out of the Gold Vomit AOE damage effect and even pull the boss away if it is standing in this effect.

As a final tip to beat Avarice in Diablo 4, get a group of friends to craft and use some Incense, which will help make the fight a bit easier.

Avarice Loot Drops in Diablo 4

Loot drops for Avarice in Diablo 4 are random. You should expect multiple Legendary item drops, with a chance of a Unique and a host of gold/crafting resources. Avarice, just like Ashava and the Wandering Death, drops a special resource only found on world bosses called Scattered Prism.

Scattered Prisms are one of the main reasons for killing a world boss such as Avarice, as it is used to add sockets to certain items in Diablo 4.
