Diablo 4 Fractured Peaks Overview & Lore

The Fractured Peaks region in Diablo 4 is inspired by the Carpathian Mountains, a mountain range in Central and Eastern Europe, according to the developers. You can seamlessly explore the entire zone with no loading screens in between.
Read a bit of official lore about Fractured Peaks in Diablo 4 to get the blood flowing:
Rocky, mountainous surroundings have kept most visitors away from this frozen landscape. Devout monks seeking refuge in the isolation of the Peaks find enlightenment, blissfully ignorant of the horrors lurking beneath the crags.
In the Fractured Peaks zone, you will find places that scream "gothic horror," from abandoned cathedrals to old ruins and a whole lot of snow...and demons, of course.
Fractured Peaks Location in Sanctuary

The image below showcases exactly where the Fractured Peaks region is located in the greater world of Sanctuary. It is in the far Northeastern section of the Sanctuary world map, distinguished by its mountains and snow.

Fractured Peaks Stronghold Locations in Diablo 4

One thing Diablo 4 players should definitely complete in the Fractured Peaks region during the open beta, and any of the other four regions, once the full game releases, are the Strongholds. You will need to explore the zone to discover Strongholds. Don't worry, though; we have directions to the Stronghold locations in Diablo 4's Fractured Peaks region below.
- Malnok Stronghold Location: Eastern Part of Fractured Peaks.
- Nevesk Stronghold Location: Western Part of Fractured Peaks.
- Kor Dragan: Northwestern part of Fractured Peaks.
Strongholds are marked on the player's map as Red Skulls. Diablo 4 players will get Renown Points for the area they complete a Stronghold in. We believe players will get 50 Renown Points per Stronghold from beta reports.
Furthermore, after completing a Stronghold, you might get other world rewards, such as new dungeon unlocking, quests, and Waypoints. In the case of Fractured Peaks, you will unlock the Nevesk Waypoint.
Some Strongholds even offer shortcuts to other areas as a completion reward and new NPCs to talk to. New vendors might also appear, and new tidbits of lore, or even a path to another Altar of Lilith, could be unlocked. There is also a lot of shiny, random loot as rewards for completing Strongholds...so don't miss out.
