This article features step-by-step instructions on how you can potentially fix crashes and freezing issues in Diablo 4.

Blizzard has provided six steps you can take if Diablo 4 keeps crashing or "locking up" on your PC. Check them out below:

  1. Make sure your computer meets the Diablo IV System Requirements. Please note: The game will try to run even if the system doesn't meet our system requirements. This can cause unknown bugs, crashing, or performance issues that may not have a resolution.
  2. Update your drivers and operating system to resolve any compatibility issues.
  3. Close all other applications to resolve software conflicts and free up resources.
  4. Update or temporarily uninstall any security programs, which may mistakenly identify the login module as a security threat.
  5. Run the repair tool to repair any damaged game files.
  6. If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall the game.

Those steps might help those experiencing Diablo 4 freezes and crashes during the Open Beta weekends, but what about the gamers on consoles?

Diablo 4 Crashing on Consoles: Any Fix?

At the time of writing, there is no way to fix Diablo 4 crashing issues on consoles. This includes PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S consoles. You can, however, redownload the Diablo 4 beta files, which is roughly 45 GB.

Furthermore, if your console crashes or freezes not only in Diablo 4 but other titles, we suggest contacting your gaming hardware supplier/store, as it might be faulty. Lastly, remember to always give your console some room to breathe. High heat in enclosed spaces could result in crashes while playing any game, including Diablo 4.

If all else fails, we suggest contacting Blizzard Customer Support to report an issue and find out if others are experiencing the same Diablo 4 crashes.

Learn more about how Blizzard has crafted the world of Sanctuary and the enemies you will find in Diablo 4 below.

Hopefully, this guide will have Diablo 4 players alleviate some crashing/freezing issues. We will endeavor to update this article once more fixes become available, so stay tuned!
