Praise Lilith, PC gamers! Blizzard has announced that Diablo 4 is coming to Steam with a precise release date. Yes, the game has always been available on PC, but a Steam release is still something PC gamers have been hoping for.

Diablo 4 Steam Release Date & Time

Blizzard is doing a lot right with Diablo 4 Season 2 (Season of Blood), from new content to target-farming, reworked dungeons, better XP gains, and much, much more. We expected as much, but what we didn't expect was a release date announcement for Diablo 4's Steam version.

The official release date for Diablo 4 on Steam is 17 October 2023, the same day Season of Blood releases. We expect the release time to coincide with the new season's release, which puts it at 10:00 PDT. For those in Europe, that's 17:00 UTC on 17 October 2023.

If the release time turns out to be slightly different, we will endeavor to update this section with haste.

First and foremost, Diablo 4's Steam page is now live, so you can wishlist the game with ease. With some flavor text, Blizzard explains:

The gates of the Burning Hells have opened once more, welcoming more of Lilith’s children home. Diablo IV is a game about slaying nightmarish creatures and acquiring powerful gear, but also about forging memories with new and old friends. We want to break down barriers to make it easier for wanderers everywhere to defend Sanctuary.

With Diablo 4's Steam release, you will, of course, need to purchase the game. The "bad" news for some gamers is that you still need to connect your Diablo 4 on Steam to a Battle.net account, but all platforms require that, as it enables cross-platform play, which will instantly work!

You also get access to Steam-specific features, such as Steam Achievements and making use of your Steam friends list. Other than that, nothing has changed, and there are no specific additional features, but it just makes things easier for PC gamers who prefer Steam above all else.
