All Diablo 4 Elixirs Types: Materials, Buffs, How To Craft & More

Elixirs make a welcome return to Sanctuary in Diablo 4, unlike Lilith, who we plan to slay over and over again. These consumable items allow for some great buffs for a limited duration, and if you want to know more, then we've got you covered.

This guide outlines everything you need to know about all Elixir types in Diablo 4, how to craft them, the duration of their buff on your character, and a complete list of crafting materials required to create them.

Update on 14 June 2023: We've updated this article with the latest Elixir crafting info for Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 Elixirs: How To Craft & Duration

From all the information available thus far, it appears that all Elixirs have a 30-minute buff duration. If the Elixir buff remains throughout, death remains a mystery at this point, but we will update you as soon as we can confirm this detail.

Crafting Elixirs will require players first to gather an assortment of plants/herbs in Diablo 4. These crafting materials can be used to create new Elixirs (find all the recipes later in this guide). The only requirement is that you will need to unlock the Diablo 4 Alchemist, which is made easy with our guide.

When To Use Elixirs in Diablo 4

It might be worth popping an Elixir if a Diablo 4 World Boss turns out to be too tough. (Picture: Blizzard)

Every Elixir has a percentage XP increase buff for your character. This means that players might be tempted to use Elixirs periodically to keep buffing their XP gain. Note that only one Elixir can be active at a time.

In our opinion, however, Elixirs should be used for their main effects. For example, if you are facing a demanding boss that has Shadow Damage, you can pop the Elixir of Shadow Resistance for increased resistance, making the fight much more manageable.

In the end, it is up to each player to decide when the best time is to use their limited Elixir stash. These can also be great for leveling up alts faster but should be consumed only when you deem it necessary, not just pop them whenever you can, like the Healing Potion.

In our previous section, we cautioned not to just use Elixirs whenever the current buff runs out. That's because Elixirs have a cost to craft at the Alchemist.

Please note: At the time of writing, it is unclear if there are more Legendary Aspects for the Sorcerer class to discover—this article features information from WoWHead and Maxroll.gg. We will update the list as soon as more information becomes available.
