Are you experiencing graphics card issues? You're not alone. Here's how to fix a bricked GPU after playing Diablo 4.
Diablo 4 GPU Issues: How To Fix Bricked Graphics Card

Are you experiencing graphics card issues during the Diablo 4 Beta period? Sadly, you're not alone. It's no secret that many players have reported their GPUs being bricked while playing the game, causing mass frustration and concern among gamers. However, there is some good news: the developers at Blizzard are investigating the issue and have offered a potential solution.

In this guide, we'll detail everything we know, with practical solutions to (hopefully) fix your bricked GPU after playing Diablo 4. That said, you're probably not happy converting your $700+ graphics card into an expensive paperweight. Still, with our help, you can get back to playing Diablo 4 without worrying about damaging your hardware.

Updated on 12 May 2023: We checked for new updates. Blizzard advises that players who were unable to revive their GPUs review the warranty and enforce it with the manufacturer.

How To Fix Diablo 4 GPU Bricking Issue (Best Solution)

Blizzard's official response to the GPU bricking issues in Diablo 4 did not explicitly reveal what was causing the problem; however, it appears that the bricking is isolated to mostly Gigabyte and ASUS NVIDIA RTX3080-series graphics cards. Noteworthy, it's possible that other models could be affected. As such, the developers noted that "the team is working closely with NVIDIA to identify affected hardware configurations."

That said, the first step to hopefully fix your bricked GPU is to conduct a complete power cycle and see if the GPU can be detected under Windows. Assuming the GPU is detected, players should do a clean driver install if the GPU can be found under Windows. However, if this does not work, players should contact Blizzard Customer Support and their GPU manufacturer with the following information: GPU card vendor and model number, display resolution, display mode, FPS settings, and graphic quality settings.

On the other hand, third-party sources suggest that an FPS cap issue might cause the problem. In this regard, it's recommended that players go into their NVIDIA Control Panel's 3D settings and enable the "Max Frame Rate" option. Then, they must set the framerate cap to less than 100 fps (or, in the case of legacy monitors, the max framerate supported by the device) and restart the computer system.

And that's everything we know about how to fix the GPU bricking issue in Diablo 4. Importantly, these solutions may not work for everyone, so it's important to take action and provide as much information as possible to Blizzard's support team to assist in their investigation. It's also worth noting that a more permanent solution will hopefully be rolled out in the near future. In the meantime, players can try these solutions to get back to playing the game they love.
