How To Get Coiling Ward in Diablo 4

Here's how to get a lot of Coiling Wards, fast, in Diablo 4.
How To Get Coiling Ward in Diablo 4

As you complete missions, clear dungeons, and level up your character in Diablo 4, you start to unlock the game's various customization and crafting options. This includes Salvaging, Weapon & Armor Enchantment, Aspect Imprinting, and more. Naturally, these upgrades cost resources, and Coiling Ward is one of those rare crafting materials in Diablo 4.

You need Coiling Ward to upgrade your Legendary Armor to the highest tier and for imprinting Legendary Aspects. This guide explains how to get Coiling Wards in Diablo 4.

You get Coiling Wards by salvaging Legendary Armor with 400+ Item Power.  It's very easy to miss out on the Item Power of a piece of gear since it's not written in bold letters.

It's possible to not get any Legendaries with Item Power 400+ until you're at a higher level on World Tier 2 or have completed the campaign and unlocked World Tier 3 difficulty. For example, we just hit level 47 on World Tier 2 and have gathered only a handful of Legendaries with Item Power over 400.

Additionally, Salvaging a Legendary Armor will only get you a single Coiling Ward. The amount of Coiling Ward you need for upgrading or imprinting depends on the type of Armor. For instance, upgrading/imprinting a Gauntlet requires 1 Coiling Ward, whereas upgrading/imprinting a Chest Armor requires 2 Coiling Wards.

Since Legendary drop rates aren't high, at least till you reach the level 50 cap and venture into the end-game activities, it's best to save up any and every Legendary gear you get, irrespective of their class, for Salvaging or Imprinting. Never sell it to a Blacksmith, no matter the price it fetches. It's simply not worth it.

That concludes our guide on how to get Coiling Ward in Diablo 4.
