Blizzard Nerfs Diablo 4's Abattoir of Zir But is it Enough?

After just one week, Blizzard has already nerfed Diablo 4's pinnacle endgame content, Abattoir of Zir, but is that enough to keep players grinding?
Blizzard Nerfs Diablo 4's Abattoir of Zir But is it Enough?

The pinnacle endgame content of Diablo 4 Season 2, Abattoir of Zir, doesn't pull any punches. Few can even access it, having to finish the whole Season Journey. Then, as you enter the first tier, even with some of the best endgame class builds, you get wrecked!

One week following the release of Abattoir of Zir, developer Blizzard has listened to fan feedback and is nerfing endgame content despite this being something that no one is supposed to be able to complete.

Taking to the official community forms, Adam "PezRadar" Fletcher noted how Blizzard has been listening to feedback, taking the community into consideration, and is thereby making some initial changes to Diablo 4's Abattoir of Zir. Check out the important nerfs below.

Glyph Experience Rewards

We are going to adjust glyph experience rewards starting from Tier 2 upward to be significantly more as you progress through higher tiers of Abattoir of Zir. This should help with feedback we’ve been seeing from players on the amount of time it would take to level up your Tears of Blood glyphs and also benefit other Glyphs you may want to level up as well.

Problematic Affixes

We are planning on disabling the Vampiric and Suppressor Affixes from Bloodseekers across the game. We understand the difficulty these were providing players while running through Abattoir of Zir.

Difficulty and Damage Reductions

We will be scaling the earlier Abattoir of Zir tiers to be a bit easier for players who are onboarding into this new end game feature. We have seen players note that the difficulty ramp is pretty excessive even on the first tier for those who were able to complete Level 100 Nightmare Dungeons before. These changes will allow for more opportunities for players to experience the earlier tiers and grow as they progress through them. Players can expect that Tier 10 and beyond will be at the same difficulty as they were before the hotfix.

Are the Diablo 4 AoZ Nerfs Enough?

We believe the Diablo 4 Abattoir of Zir nerfs are more than enough, and the devs shouldn't nerf this endgame activity further. (Picture: Blizzard)

Some might call these nerfs significant, while other Diablo 4 players think that the nerfs only affected unfair areas and that more players can now, at least, progress a bit in the Abattoir of Zir endgame event.

Having reached Tier 5 myself, with progress taking place before the nerfs, I believe Blizzard made the right call. The Vampiric and Suppressor affixes are just stupid. Suppressor basically means you get drained of resources, and mobs just heal to full with Vampiric. It takes the fun away from AoZ runs, and higher-level enemies feel impossible to kill.

It's also nice to get more Tears of Blood glyph experience, and the lower-tier nerfs aren't a bad idea since they give more players a chance to complete a few tiers while the top players in the world still have the same challenge in higher tiers. Overall, I think the Diablo 4 Abattoir of Zir nerfs are just enough, and I hope Blizzard doesn't nerf this endgame activity further.
