Many factors will see you succeed as you play through Diablo 4, especially during this current season, from the weapons you use to the armor and skills, but one detail is often not given enough consideration, the effects you can wield. One in particular, the Berserker effect is especially useful for players who want to deal heavy damage.

So if you're interested in employing the Berserker effect in your next build, or just want to know what it does, then you're in the right place. Below, we will be explaining everything you need to know about the Berserking effect in Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 - How Does The Berserking Effect Work?

Berserking in Diablo 4 represents a Status Ailment condition that can be applied to both players and adversaries using various methods like Skills, Talents, Weapon Modifiers, Runes, and more. This potent effect is exclusive to the Barbarian Class and can significantly enhance a character's abilities, boosting Damage by 25% and Movement Speed by 30%.

The Berserk status is solely available to Barbarians, and achieving the Berserking effect necessitates the acquisition of specific skills from the Barbarian tree:

  1. Combat Lunging Strike: Triggering Critical Strikes with Lunging Strike activates Berserking for 1.5 seconds.
  2. Furious Double Swing: Executing Double Swing while already under the Berserking effect extends the duration by 2 seconds.
  3. Violent Upheaval: Activates Berserking for 2 seconds when Upheaval damages at least 2 enemies. Duration extends to 3 seconds with damage to at least 4 enemies.
  4. Enhanced War Cry: War Cry initiates Berserking for 4 seconds.
  5. Battle Fervor: Berserking is activated, and its duration depends on the skill's rank (e.g., 1 second for Rank 1, 2 seconds for Rank 2, and 3 seconds for Rank 3).
  6. Fighter’s Steel Grasp: Berserking is triggered for 2 seconds when Steel Grasp damages an enemy.
  7. Wrath of the Berserker: Activates both Berserking and Unstoppable effects for 5 seconds. Employing Basic skills to inflict direct damage triggers Berserking for 5 seconds. Upgrading to Prime and Supreme Wrath confers additional benefits.
  8. Prime Wrath of the Berserker: While Wrath of the Berserker is active, gain an extra 20% Movement Speed and 30% Fury Generation.
  9. Supreme Wrath of the Berserker: Elevates Berserker's damage bonus by 25% for every 50 Fury expended during Wrath of the Berserker's activation.
  10. Unconstrained: Extends Berserk's maximum duration by 5 seconds and heightens the damage bonus by 25%.
