We explain if it is possible to increase your inventory size in Diablo 4 to carry more items without the need to head back to town.
Diablo 4 Inventory Size Increase: Is it Possible?

The iconic Diablo franchise has, without a doubt, always been about slaying demons and, importantly, collecting loot to increase your character's power further. However, there is a limited inventory size in Diablo 4, so we can't blame those wondering if there's any way to increase it.

This article explains if there is any way to increase your character's inventory size in Diablo 4 and how you can make some space while slaying the followers of Lilith in Sanctuary.

Update on 9 August 2023: We've updated this article with the latest information on a possible inventory size increase in Diablo 4 Season 1.

How To Increase Inventory Size in Diablo 4

First up, Diablo 4's character inventory is divided into four types:

  • Equipment: Weapons, Gems, Armor
  • Quest: Quest items only
  • Aspects: Legendary aspects that have been extracted.
  • Consumables: Elixirs, crafting materials, and more.

The only one that players will really want to increase is the Equipment tab. However, we have bad news for you. There is currently no way to increase the inventory size in Diablo 4

That's not to say that there won't be a way to increase the inventory size of your character in Diablo 4 sometime in the future. For example, maybe we see inventory rows added to the free version of the Battle Pass or possibly as a Season's Journey unlock.

We will update this section as soon as a way to increase your Diablo 4 character's inventory size becomes available.

Clear Some Inventory Space in Diablo 4

We suggest clearing your inventory before heading to a Stronghold or Dungeon. (Picture: Blizzard)

While you can't currently increase your inventory size in Diablo 4, we do have a couple of tips on how you can clear some space. Check them out below.

  • Drop items you definitely want to keep into your Stash.
  • Salvage unwanted items at the Blacksmith.
  • Drop items you don't want on the ground if you want to keep going without Salvaging them.

It is important to note that we do not recommend the third point unless you really, really don't want to leave a specific dungeon or area. Sometimes, your inventory might be full in Diablo 4, and then you get a big Legendary drop. In this case, we suggest quickly dropping one piece of Common or Magic loot.

So there you have it, some tips on inventory management in Diablo 4, and if there's a way to increase your character's inventory bag size explained. We will endeavor to update this article if/when more info becomes available.
