From our experience with Diablo 4 thus far, the world of Sanctuary is best explored with a group of friends, just like all other titles in the iconic ARPG franchise. However, some players might struggle to invite cross-platform friends to their party.
This guide explains how you can invite friends to your party or join their group and provides a workaround for any issues regarding cross-platform friend invites so you don’t have to take on the followers of Lilith alone.
Update on 12 July 2023: We've updated this article with the latest, most accurate Diablo 4 friend invites details.
How To Add/Invite Friends in Diablo 4
It is elementary to add people to your friends list in Diablo 4 and invite these friends to your party for some demon-slaying action. Follow the simple steps below to add and then invite friends.
- From the UI menu, open your friends list and click Add Friend. For PC, you can also do this outside the game via Battle.net.
- Add a person to your friends list via their Battle.net handle/code.
- Your friend should then accept your request. Once this is completed, they will appear on your Battle.net Friends List.
- In Diablo 4, send your friend an invite to your party. You can select their name and request to join if they are already in a party.
Diablo 4 is fully cross-platform, which means those on PC and consoles can all play together. There have, however, been some issues in the Server Slam test.
Cross-Platform Party Invite Fix for Diablo 4
Players on Xbox and PlayStation ran into some issues while trying to invite friends from different platforms to their party during the Diablo 4 Server Slam test. While Blizzard has already released a hotfix, there is always a tiny chance this issue could reoccur.
One workaround to the cross-platform party invite issue is to create a Diablo 4 Clan and invite your friends from different platforms via the Clan menu. This might be a bit of a mission, but thankfully, Diablo 4 Community Manager PezRadar has posted a much easier fix if you have a phone…
There is an issue where players on Xbox and PlayStation can not receive friend requests in-game. The workaround for users on these platforms is to accept the friend invite on the Battle.net mobile app or client on PC. Once you do this, the friend will immediately appear on your friends list in-game on Xbox and PlayStation.
We do suggest installing the Battle.net mobile app anyway to secure your account with 2FA, so this fix shouldn’t take more than a few minutes, at most, to implement.
