Diablo 4 Level 100 Boss Reveal: Pinnacle Encounter

We've loved every moment of our time in Sanctuary during the Diablo 4 review period, slaying countless followers of Lilith and the hordes of the Burning Hells, going all the way to level 72 during our time with the game since it would take about 150 hours to reach max level. Once you get there, a "pinnacle encounter" awaits, and many fans might be wondering who the final level 100 boss is.

Please note: This article contains spoilers, revealing the name of the final Diablo 4 boss encounter at level 100 below the image of Inarius. You've been warned.

Who is The Final Level 100 Diablo 4 Boss?

The final level 100 boss is not Diablo or one of the other Prime Evils. Some fans might have been hoping for a completely new boss as the "pinnacle encounter." 

Pulling off the bandaid right now, the level 100 boss in Diablo 4 is the Echo of Lilith, aka (Uber Lilith) as revealed in-game once you complete the campaign and reach the endgame activities at around level 50. Check the image below for confirmation.

At the time of writing, it is unclear if there will be some quest chain attached to the Echo of Lilith encounter once you hit level 100 or how to unlock it. The only official mention of this endgame boss from associate game director Joe Piepiora reads:

At level 100, we do have a pinnacle boss encounter we want players to engage with that’s been balanced so that it’s extraordinarily, extraordinarily challenging. Players that reach level 100 are going to have an extremely difficult time on this boss encounter. And the expectation is that you take your class, you understand your build, you’ve maximized everything that you possibly can about it, and you really have learned encountered very well. And that’s going to be the way that you can maybe take it down.

Hopefully, the boss encounter will be unique, with many new mechanics and even a third phase. It does sound promising, but we can't help but wonder if Blizzard couldn't instead of made the final, level 100 boss a completely new character we did not fight during the campaign.
