Many Diablo 4 players are asking where the Rebirth feature is, also known as the Seasonal Character Rebirth mechanic. In this guide, we outline how the Diablo 4 Rebirth feature works and speculate on its possible release date.

Yes, not everyone wants to create a new character each season, but with a Rebirth feature, at least you can keep your character's look and name, so it is a highly-requested feature for Blizzard's team to implement in the future. 

What is Seasonal Rebirth in Diablo 4?

In Diablo 3, the Rebirth mechanic allows you to, well, rebirth a non-seasonal character (Eternal Realm) into a Seasonal Character. This keeps the character's legacy, name, and look alive but resets all gear, levels, and any other form of progression. Furthermore, items from the non-seasonal character you convert are transferred to your main Stash on the Eternal Realm.

Please note: This feature is not to be confused with Diablo 4's Scroll of Amnesia, which is releasing with Season 1.

Blizzard's Diablo 4 Community Manager, Adam "PezRadar" Fletcher, responded to a question about an upcoming Seasonal Rebirth feature in Diablo 4: "Rebirth isn’t a feature in D4 yet. But we’ve heard this a bunch, so the team is aware."

The key word here is "YET," so we will likely see the Rebirth feature sometime in the future, which we discuss in the next section of this article.

Diablo 4 Rebirth Feature Release Date Speculation

We know the Seasonal Rebirth feature will not appear in Diablo 4 Season 1, aka Season of the Malignant. Therefore, we suspect the earliest this highly-anticipated feature will release is with Season 2.

According to the latest rumors, Diablo 4 Season 1 will end on 9 October 2023, and Season 2 will release on 12 to 13 October 2023, providing a short break for a smooth transition. This could be longer, as some believe there will be a week or even a two-week break between seasons.

Therefore, the earliest speculated release date for the Rebirth feature in Diablo 4 is 12 October 2023. As soon as Blizzard confirms a release date for Seasonal Rebirth in Diablo 4, we will update this section of the article.
