Leak Suggests Diablo 4 Release Date Will Be Later Than Expected

The official Diablo 4 social media channels have been shouting, "Lillith is coming!" for several days now, but it looks like she might be taking the slow route to our PCs and consoles. That's if the latest Diablo 4 release date leak is to be believed.

A new Diablo 4 release/launch date leak suggests the fourth entry in the iconic Diablo franchise on a later-than-expected launch date.

New Diablo 4 Release Date Leak Legitimate?

There is some real bite to the new Diablo 4 release date leak. The date has reportedly been added to the Microsoft Store backend.

This appears to have been found by Aggiornamenti Lumia on Twitter, who notes the Diablo 4 release date as 5 June 2023, and the time as 23:00, as well as a file size of 80 GB on Xbox consoles.

The leaker further notes, "I've specified 23:00:00 because, depending on your time zone, you could get it on June 6," so the release date might be a little later for others.

Further details have also surfaced, noting that Diablo 4 will have the following editions (at least on the Microsoft Store):

• Standard Edition
• Digital Deluxe Edition
• Ultimate Edition

Remember to take this information with a large helping of salt until such time as Blizzard confirms the Diablo 4 official release date. There's no telling if this is a legitimate date or leak, but something tells me it is...

Diablo 4 Release Date Delayed Internally?

So with the Closed Endgame Beta underway and an open beta expected to begin in early 2023, we can't help but wonder one thing...was the Diablo 4 release date delayed internally?

A relatively solid rumor recently suggested the Diablo 4 release date window of April 2023. This was, however, just a rumor as well, so there is no way to know for sure if Diablo 4 was delayed internally following endgame beta feedback.

There is a possibility that Diablo 4 had an April 2023 release date rumor and that the leaked launch date of 5 June 2023 is accurate if an internal delay took place. 

Thankfully, we won't have to wait too long for Diablo 4's official release date to get revealed, as there is a VERY good chance the game will show up at The Game Awards 2022, which takes place on 8th December 2022.
