What Are Treasure Goblins in Diablo 4?

Here's everything you need to know about Treasure Goblins in Diablo 4.
What Are Treasure Goblins in Diablo 4?

As you explore the open world of Diablo 4, you will randomly come across NPCs, side quests, vicious enemies, cellars, dungeons, strongholds, events, and more. Some encounters are exciting, some are bizarre, and some are downright brutal.

Treasure Goblins fall into the bizarre category, and seldom they may cross your path while exploring the open world. These strange creatures in Diablo 4 are too precious to ignore, so here's our guide, which explains everything you need to know about these mischievous little creatures.

Treasure Goblins in Diablo 4 Explained

Treasure goblins are basically living loot boxes that will run away from you once it spots you. Slay it before it conjures a portal to escape, and it will drop a ton of rare or legendary gear. Some players have also reported getting cosmetic items from Treasure Goblins. In our case, so far, we have had only legendary gear drops.

As you reach the end-game of Diablo 4, legendary gear will become increasingly valuable not just for improving your build but also for the resources they drop from dismantling. Killing Treasure Goblins are arguably the easiest way to get your hands on some top-tier loot in the game.

How to Find Treasure Goblins in Diablo 4

Treasure Goblins will randomly spawn in your game, whether in the open world or inside a dungeon. Whenever there's one nearby, you will hear the jangling of coins. You may also spot them on your minimap with a little goblin icon hurling a bag on its back.

As soon as they see you, Treasure Goblins will run for their life. If you're playing as a short-ranged character, you will have a much harder time taking them down since they are constantly running away. You could see CC abilities to stun or freeze them temporarily and rain down attacks to finish them off. Unsurprisingly, they soak up plenty of damage, so you must use your best DPS attacks to take it down.

Interestingly, there are also secret Goblin loot Cellars, which, as the name suggests, are full of Goblins carrying top-tier loot. These Cellars usually have a bunch of Goblins in there, and you can snag 4-5, if not more, Legendary gear in just a few seconds.

However, finding Goblins in a Cellar is a completely random event, and the only way to stumble upon one of these is to explore every Cellar you come across in your journey.

That's everything you need to know about Treasure Goblins in Diablo 4.
