How To Unlock Vaults in Diablo 4 Season 3
You’ll unlock Vaults in Diablo 4 Season of the Construct very early in the following seasonal questline and help out the infamous Zoltun Kulle! Players will travel to Gatehall (a new town hub underneath Kehjistan), where they can access Vaults. Blizzard provided some spicy lore text to get the blood flowing:
A new threat lurks deep beneath the sands of Kehjistan, where the Loom, an ancient technology—designed by Zoltun Kulle and Ayuzhan of Caldeum—has been usurped by the forces of evil. The Demon Malphas is responsible for twisting the Loom for his cruel whims. Zoltun’s former companion Ayuzhan leads you through the treacherous Vaults, desperate to stop the formidable Malphas and his deadly constructs from overtaking Sanctuary.
So what are Vaults exactly? Well, they are a new dungeon type in Diablo 4 Season 3, which features a new enemy type, “Constructs,” which further has several varieties and elemental powers.
You’ll also have to face dozens of traps, making Diablo 4 Season 3 players feel a bit like Indiana Jones!
Please note: You have to create a seasonal character to access Vaults in Diablo 4 Season 3, as this feature is not available on the Eternal Realm.
How To Get Nightmare Vault Sigils
To unlock Nightmare Vaults, you will need Vault Sigils. Players must make their way to World Tier 3 difficulty, completing the Cathedral of Light. Once you are in World Tier 3 difficulty, Vault Sigils will start to drop alongside Nightmare Dungeon Sigils.
You can also craft Vault Sigils with Pearls of Warding the same way you would craft Nightmare Sigils with Sigil Powder. Nightmare Vaults are, of course, much more difficult to complete than regular Vaults.
Diablo 4 Season 3 Vault Rewards
As you complete Vaults, you will earn one random Tuning Stone to customize your Seneschal companion. You can also get both Tuning Stones by killing enemies. Construct enemies inside the Vaults alongside standard gear drops.
The biggest reward, however, is the Wardwoven Chest, which Diablo 4 Season 3 players can earn by defeating the Vault Boss with at least one stack of Zoltun’s Warding active. Extra stacks of Zoltun’s Warding increase the rewards earned. The Wardwoven Chest can drop Governing and Tuning Stones and has a higher chance of dropping Legendary items.
Zoltun’s Warding and Pearls of Warding Explained
Once inside a Vault in Diablo 4 Season 3, you will find the Statue of Zoltun Kulle. Interact with this statue and spend one Pearl of Warding for three (3) stacks of Zoltun’s Warding. If you get hit by a trap in the Vault, one stack of Zoltun’s Warding will disappear. Players who make it to the end of a Vault and defeat the boss while still having a stack active will get increased rewards.
The more stacks of Zoltun’s Warding active, the better the rewards from the Wardwoven Chests will be. We believe you should probably wait until World Tier 4 difficulty before spending your Pearls of Warding.
Players can also craft Vault Sigils with Pearls of Warding, making it one of the most important currencies in Diablo 4 Season 3.
