In Diablo 4, bosses are presented as formidable challenges that must be conquered to advance in the game. Among these formidable adversaries, Elias stands out as a particularly powerful boss, posing a formidable challenge that should not be taken lightly.

Where to Find Elias Boss in Diablo 4

Elias will be encountered twice during the course of Diablo 4, with the first encounter ending in his escape, and the second where you finally put him down. So let's cover both of these locations below. 

Your first encounter with Elias will be within Elias' Chambers, in the Exalted Terrace, an area that players will explore when completing the main quest titled "Piercing the Veil" during Act III. To help you locate Elias' Chambers, refer to the provided map image above, which highlights its position in the far northeastern part of the Kehjistan region in Sanctuary.

The second and final encounter with Elias will be inside the Foul Undercrypts during Act V, located in the Ruins of Rakhat Keep in Hawezar, and is the last stop before completing the main quest "On the Precipice." For a more precise look, check out the map image provided below.

How to Beat Elias Boss in Diablo 4

During your initial confrontation with Elias in Act III, it is important to be cautious of his moves despite his relative weakness. In the first phase of the battle, he launches homing projectiles that inflict some damage. However, he is still considered vulnerable at this stage. So defeat Elias and continue.

In the second phase, Elias reappears and summons a powerful demon known as the Champion of Lilith. He continues to employ homing projectiles while introducing a new attack. He raises his arm to release small blood balls that explode upon impact with the ground or player. The areas of impact are clearly indicated by red markings, so players must remain vigilant and evade accordingly until he is defeated.

You encounter Elias once more in the third phase, he once again summons the Champion of Lilith and intensifies his attacks from the previous phases, increasing their frequency. Additionally, he employs a new attack where he creates summoning pools to bring forth servants who will assail you. Elias will remain immune until these servants have been vanquished, all while continuing to attack you, so clear them out and slay Elias once more to continue. 

Upon reaching the fourth and final phase of the battle, Elias employs the same attacks as in the preceding phases, but he is beefed up this time, so employ the same tactics, but be more careful. After slaying Elias, speak with Lorath to conclude the "Piercing the Veil" quest and continue with the main quests until you encounter Elias again in Act V.

During the Act V encounter with Elias, you will be accompanied by Taissa and have to bring him down for good. He employs a familiar set of attack moves seen in the previous encounter but with some additional attacks and the absence of summoning the Champion of Lilith. 

One notable attack is when he unleashes shockwaves in a fan pattern beneath him, gradually extending to encompass the surrounding area. Being caught in this area will result in damage and vulnerability. Due to the wide area of effect (AoE) coverage, players need to dodge the attack or find gaps to avoid taking damage.

In general, both of these boss encounters are not difficult if you approach them with patience and caution, being mindful of your movements and attacks. However, it's important to note that Elias's attacks pack a significant punch, and underestimating their impact can result in frequent restarts. Therefore, it is crucial to remain vigilant, seize opportunities to deal damage when it is safe to do so, and with perseverance, you will eventually emerge victorious against Elias.

What Loot Does Elias Boss Drop in Diablo 4?

Both of the encounters with Elias will give you a drop of Gold and XP, as well as the chance at a 1 Legendary, and 1 or more Rare gear items. However, you'll also get extra Gold and Experience when completing both quests, making it a lucrative endeavor to take on Elias in Diablo 4.
