In Diablo 4 Season 4, Nephalem will want to farm as many Stygian Stones as possible, one of the most sought-after new resources in the season aptly entitled "Loot Reborn."

Join us as we explain the fastest ways to get more Diablo 4 Stygian Stones and what players can do with this resource in Season 4.

We are just going to pull off the bandaid right now. Stygian Stones are not easy to get, and unless you are level 100 and kitted out in a powerful build full of top-tier loot, you won't be able to quickly farm Stygian Stones.

An official in-game description of a Stygian Stone reads:

Evil-steeped over eons, this grotesque stone murmurs ancient blasphemies.

We recommend first leveling up with one of the fastest builds to get to World Tier 4 and then start fine-tuning your build and Paragon Board. Keep on grinding until you are able to unlock The Pit of Artificers, so you should at least be able to clear nightmare dungeons Tier 46 or higher.

Once you've collected Runeshards, you can head on over to the Obelisk, located in the town of Cerrigar in Diablo 4 Season 4, to open up The Pit.

The only way to get Stygian Stones in Diablo 4 Season 4, you guessed it, is to participate in The Pit. The higher the tier of The Pit you are competing in, the more Stygian Stones you will get as drops.

Important note:In a group, only the player who opened The Pit will have a chance at receiving the coveted Stygian Stones, used to summon Tormented Echos.

The fastest way to farm Diablo 4 Stygian Stones, therefore, is to complete The Pit runs as quickly as possible and farm enough Runestones so you can be the one to open The Pit each time if you prefer going in a group.

What Are Stygian Stones Used For in Diablo 4?

There is one use for Stygian Stones in Diablo 4 Season 4, and it is a VERY important one for endgame progression.

Stygian Stones are used to summon Tormented Echos. These are level 200 versions of the summonable bosses, including the new Echo of Andariel and the likes of Duriel, Varshan, and more.

You need two Stygian Stones to summon a Tormented Echo ultra uber boss (that's the only way we can put it, really), alongside three times the normal summoning materials they would require. All items dropped from Tormented Echoes are Item Level 925. Defeating your first Tormented Echo drops one Resplendent Spark as a first-time reward, which players can use to craft Uber Uniques!

That's everything Diablo 4 players need to know about Stygian Stones in Diablo 4 Season 4, including how you can get them to drop, farm them if you are geared enough, and what they are used for. If anything changes, we will endeavor to update this article with haste, so stay tuned!
