Diablo 4 Whittling Sanity Quest: How To Find The Clues

In our quest to push back the hordes of the Burning Hells and demolish the followers of Lilith during Diablo 4's campaign, we came across some main story quests that had us stumped for a few minutes, wishing we had a guide at hand. Whittling Sanity is one of these quests, leaving us wondering where we can find the correct clues to continue the story.

This quest guide explains how you can complete the Whittling Sanity questline in Diablo 4, alongside the Carver's House clues search section, and take care of the bosses at the end, so let's get started.

Diablo 4 Whittling Sanity Find Clues Solution

During the Whittling Sanity main story quest, you will come across the Carver's House, accompanied by Lorath. At this point, the quest's task is: "Help Lorath search for clues in the Carver's House." 

Generally, we would interact with any objects we can until the quest task is completed. That's exactly what we did during the Whittling Sanity quest, but for some reason, Lorath was fumbling about, not really reacting to our interactions with items in the Carver's House.

So how exactly do you find those pesky clues? After clicking on the objects and running into the final room, all you need to do is wait for Lorath. He takes about two minutes to actually walk into the final room, as you can see from the image above.

At this point, you'll open the door and head to a boss fight to finish off the Whittling Sanity quest.

Diablo 4 Genbar & Mahmon Boss Fight

The final piece of the Whittling Sanity quest sees you talking to Genbar, and then a boss fight takes place. The Genbar and Mahmon boss fight should be handled with care, as the demon does high damage.

We suggest staying away from the demon Mahmon as you first take care of Genbar, a much easier target to take down. There really isn't much more to it, but if you are struggling, we suggest using an Elixir that provides additional armor and using as much crowd-control on Mahmon as possible. Once Genbar falls, Mahmon becomes an easier kill.
