Blizzard outdid themselves with Diablo 4 Season 4 (Loot Reborn), and ahead of the Vessel of Hatred expansion, Season 5 promises to add a nice heap of content, items, and more welcome changes.
Diablo 4 Season 5 begins on 6 August 2024, but you can get a taste during the upcoming PTR starting in late June! Here’s what you need to know!
When Does Diablo 4 Season 5 PTR Begin? Dates Revealed
It appears that Diablo 4 Season 5’s PTR will only run for one week. The official start and end dates are 25 June to 2 July 2024. The PTR start times are 10:00 PT, 13:00 ET, or 18:00 GMT, depending on your region.
Don’t worry; you don’t have to go through the leveling process. Instead, just log in and head to Zarbinzet, then speak to an NPC called “PTR Boost” and select the “Boost me to level 100” dialogue option.
Diablo 4 Season 5 PTR Content To Test
There’s a whole lot of content to enjoy, as well as changes for players to test out. The most important for many players, however, is the new questline that takes place after the events of the main questline in Diablo 4. You should head to Hawezar in World Tier III to investigate “a disturbance amongst the city folk,” and from there, you’ll also unlock the new endgame activity, Infernal Hordes.
You’ll earn Infernal Compasses to unlock different tiers of the Infernal Hordes activity, and earn saught-after items and materials if you make it through enough waves of demons. You’ll battle Fell Priests of the Fell Council (yes, like the High Council in Diablo 2) as the final bosses of this new endgame activity. Blizzard explains:
- If you manage to survive the Infernal Hordes, the Fell Council await. Originally meant to protect us from the Prime Evil Mephisto during the events in Diablo II, these noble priests were corrupted and became Champions of the very demon they swore to oppose.
- There are 5 Fell Council Members in total, each equipped with different unique abilities. Every time you face the Fell Council, there will be 3 different members to fight you – each three will be selected to fight you at random. Be wary of their unique abilities in the various combinations you’ll encounter them.
- Once you inflict enough damage on the Fell Council, the Priests will become more frenzied in their attacks. Stay on your guard if you wish to live.
- Upon defeating the Fell Council, you can spend your Burning Aether on the Spoils of Hell.
There are new Unique and Legendary items, as well as a tonne of gameplay adjustments in the Diablo 4 Season 5 PTR. Honestly, there are too many to list, so check out dozens of pages of details via an official post by Blizzard.
