Diablo 4 Lunar Awakening Shrines & Effects
At the heart of the Lunar Awakening 2025 event in Diablo 4 is the Lunar Shrines. You will find these Lunar Shrines across Sanctuary. They are plentiful, and when you activate them and then slay monsters, you earn a tonne of Ancestral Favor reputation (more on that later). Blizzard explains:
During Lunar Awakening, all Shrines have been replaced with Lunar Shrines—which bestow a 100% experience bonus when activated—with an updated appearance to honor the year of the snake! Lunar Shrines function similarly to typical Shrines, but they have been augmented for an extra punch to celebrate this festive event. These shrines also have a unique Map icon, so you can spot them from a distance.
On top of regular Shrine powers, Lunar Shrines also have the following augmented effects:
- Artillery Shrine – Casts have a chance to summon a holy bomb.
- Blast Wave Shrine – Each explosion summons a cluster bombardment.
- Channeling Shrine – Increased attack speed and chance to reset cooldowns.
- Conduit Shrine – Summon frequent, powerful, shocking strikes.
- Greed Shrine – Chance to summon a Treasure Goblin. While the Shrine is active, kills summon a Treasure Goblin.
- Lethal Shrine – Chance to instantly execute a struck monster, causing Fear on surrounding monsters.
- Protection Shrine – You reflect all incoming damage. Damage reflected scales with Level and Difficulty.
When you activate a Lunar Shrine, you’ll also see Miserly Spirits spawn so you can crush monsters with even more powers!
Ancestral Favor Reputation & Rewards
The image above showcases all the rewards you can get from leveling up the Ancestral Favor reputation.
First, travel to Ked Bardu and get yourself to the Northern section of the town. You’ll find Ying-Yue there, the leader of the Lunar Night Market. Here, you can redeem your Ancestral Favor Reputation for some “Unceasing Gifts,” Caches, and cosmetic Lunar Renewal-themed rewards.
There are 10 levels of Ancestral Favor reputation, and you can even earn a Resplendent Spark and the new Trag’Oul’s Consort mount. You can only unlock a cosmetic once, but you can continue receiving Unceasing Gifts by leveling up even after you reach reputation level 10.
Good luck, Wanderers, and enjoy the Lunar Awakening event before it ends on 18 February 2025. There are also Lunar Awakening-themed garments in Tejal’s shop if you have some extra currency lying around collecting dust.
