Diablo 4: How to Get Baleful Fragments

Legendary Weapons are the highest tier weapons in Diablo 4 until you unlock World Tier 3 and 4, where Unique and Scared tier becomes available. To max out weapon upgrades or imprint Legendary Aspects on other weapons, you need Baleful Fragments. 

Naturally, these are rare and precious resources that aren't easy to farm. If you're new to the Diablo franchise, it may take a while to figure out how to get this valuable crafting resource in the game. As such, here's our guide, which explains how to get Baleful Fragments in Diablo 4.

How to farm Baleful Fragments in Diablo 4

You can get Baleful Fragments by salvaging Legendary Weapons with 400+ Item Power. Since they are not highlighted with bold colors in the item menu, it's easy to miss out on the exact Item Power of the weapons you own.

We recommend always re-checking the Item Power of a Legendary gear before salvaging them since they are incredibly hard to come by. 

Also, if you're playing as a Sorcerer (or any other class), you may occasionally get Legendary weapon drops that are not compatible with your current class. The best case scenario would be to salvage these instead of selling them since the former will get you Baleful Fragments. 

If you're playing at World Tier 1 or World Tier 2, chances are, you won't get Legendary drops with 400+ Item Power. However, you can increase the Item Power of that weapon by upgrading it a few times. Only the fourth and final upgrade requires Baleful Fragments, which means you can upgrade it at least three times with standard resources and (hopefully) increase its Item Power above 400 to make it viable for salvaging.
