Located in the southern region of Hawezar, just north of the Toxic Fens, you will discover the Vyeresz Stronghold in Diablo 4. To initiate your search for the Stronghold, a recommended starting point is the Ruins of Rakhat Keep. From there, head south into the Fethis Wetlands and continue in a southerly direction.

Vyeresz is a village in southern Hawezar, which has fallen under the control of cultists who worship a deity referred to as the "Serpent God." Inside the town, you will encounter various serpent-like creatures and the human cultists who venerate them.

Battle your way toward the village's center, where you will come across a structure featuring an elaborate, sizeable door adorned with a glyph encompassed by three Serpent eyes. This door, known as the Serpent's Eye Door, is the starting point for the Vyeresz Stronghold.

To open the Serpent's door and proceed to clear the Vyeresz Stronghold in Diablo 4, players need to find and destroy three Serpent's Eye Pedestals that correspond to the door to unlock it. These are scattered around the Stronghold, some of which are more heavily guarded than others.

The initial pedestal can be located outside the structure, surrounded by petrified cultists. To destroy it, click on the pedestal. Another pedestal awaits in a large hut northwest of the Serpent's Eye Door, guarded by Rikrad, an elite cultist, and his companions.

Overcome these adversaries and demolish the Serpent's Eye. Moving east of the door, you will discover another substantial hut with the final Serpent's Eye on the right side. Eliminate Vescir, the elite cultist, and the lesser foes protecting the pedestal.

Once all three Serpent's Eyes have been dealt with, return to the Serpent's Eye Door and interact with it. Now, you must survive for 50 seconds while facing a horde of cultists as the door opens. Initially, the waves of cultists will be slow, but they will gradually increase in number as the countdown progresses.

The petrified cultists near the first pedestal will break free and join the assault. Swiftly eliminate all opponents. They should not pose a significant threat as long as you consistently dispatch them before their numbers become overwhelming. But stay vigilant because several Nagari Longfang elites will burst through when the door opens.

Proceed through the path behind the door, following the southeast route. Keep following this path until you discover the Altar of Lilith, which you can claim. Once prepared, return to the original path and make your way towards the Healing Well located in the center, your last resting stop before encountering the boss of the Vyeresz Stronghold: Dianthus.

Diablo 4: How To Beat Dianthus In Vyeresz Stronghold

Staying near Dianthus and avoiding his close-range attacks is the best way to deal with the boss. (Picture: Blizzard)

Dianthus, the boss in the form of a serpent-like Nangari Longclaw, possesses several special attacks. Upon spawning, Dianthus will launch forward with its massive fangs, stunning players upon a successful hit. This ability is utilized periodically throughout the fight but can be easily anticipated as the boss winds up slowly before executing the attack.

Another move is an AoE (Area of Effect) attack where Dianthus creates a large-radius ripple that expands. After a brief delay, the ripple explodes, inflicting significant poison damage. To avoid this, swiftly move out of the area of effect as soon as you notice it.

Dianthus occasionally releases two fans of projectiles around itself, but these projectiles cause minimal damage. The boss may raise its arms and launch several projectiles toward the ground, resulting in lingering blood pools. While these pools are relatively easy to evade, they deal substantial damage if you happen to get caught in them.

Alongside these attacks, Serpent adds will periodically spawn during the fight, attacking from a distance. Therefore, it is advisable to eliminate them when possible to mitigate their damage. So, stay close to the boss, try to avoid its main attacks while dealing damage, and steer clear of the AoE attack until the boss falls.

Diablo 4: Vyeresz Stronghold Rewards

With Danthius defeated and the Vyeresz Stronghold cleared, let's discuss the valuables you'll gain as a reward for doing so. The first is the default reward for clearing a Stronghold in the game, Renown. Usually, you'd get 100 Renown for clearing a Stronghold, but Vyeresz grants players 120 Renown, making it worthwhile to clear.

Vyeresz is also one of the rare Strongholds that transform into a player-friendly settlement once cleared, complete with its own Waypoint, vendors, and grants access to new Side Quests. You'll also unlock the Shadowed Plunge dungeon northeast of the Stronghold, ripe with its rewards if you venture inside

During your journey through the Stronghold, you are guaranteed to encounter rare drops, with a chance of obtaining legendary items, although they may be less common than rare drops. Alongside these valuable items, you will also accumulate a significant amount of experience and gold. Lastly, it is worth noting that the items dropped within Strongholds have power levels approximately two levels higher than your character's level.

And that concludes our guide on how to clear the Vyeresz Stronghold Stronghold in the Hawezar region of Diablo 4. We recommended clearing this Stronghold as soon as possible to acquire the resources to be found there and unlock the Waypoint located here and turn Vyeresz into a base of operations in Diablo 4's Hawezar region.
