Take a seat, Nephalem, as I will explain how you can find Forgotten Altars in Diablo 4, thereby earning the incredible Lost Powers to use throughout Season 7, so let’s leap in.
How To Find Forgotten Altars Quickly in Diablo 4
It’s easy to unlock normal Witchcraft powers from the first three schools (Eldritch, Psyche, Growth & Decay) by just following the seasonal questline and earning reputation with the Coven, completing Whisper boundies, defeating Headrotten, and all the general new content in Diablo 4 Season 7, so you can unlock powers at the Witches’ Altars.
There is, however, a 4th school called Lost Powers, which are “unknown to both the Coven and the Tree.” First up, you MUST be on a Seasonal Realm to play through the seasonal content.
That’s the easy part since Forgotten Altars are an extremely rare spawn in random dungeons. Check out the steps you can take below for the fastest way to find a Forgotten Altar location in Diablo 4.
- Do fast dungeon runs checking for a Forgotten Altar on each level. You can also run The Pit, but dungeons such as Hoarfrost Demise which you can clear quickly is the fastest.
- Use Draught of Whispers elixir, which doubles the chances of a Forgotten Altar spawning in a dungeon or The Pit.
- Forgotten Altars have a 1%/2%/3%/5% chance of spawning on Torment 1/2/3/4 difficulties. Run the difficulty you can clear dungeons comfortably. Of course, the fastest is to run at Torment 4 with a Draught of Whispers elixir, giving yourself a 10% chance per dungeon or pit run to get a spawn.
Sidenote: The Draught of Whispers elixir cannot be crafted. You must complete Coven quests and Whispers to get them as random rewards.
