Whatever the Forgotten Soul may be in Diablo lore, what is certain is that you will want to get as many of them as possible. Forgotten Souls is a rare crafting material used at the Blacksmiths across Sanctuary to upgrade Sacred and Ancestral items. Upgrading your items is an essential part of progression, and during the endgame grind from 50 to 70, I found I always needed more.

Thankfully, there's a tactic that you can use to farm Forgotten Souls very quickly in Diablo 4, with reports of over 50 of this rare crafting resource every 10 minutes! 

Best Diablo 4 Forgotten Souls Farming Tactic 

According to early reports, the first group to find this farming method is led by imexile, a World of Warcraft raider and streamer. It requires a group, so if you don't have one, you can still get some Forgotten Souls but at a much slower rate.

First, you will need to be in World Tier 3 (Nightmare) or World Tier 4 (Torment) to access Helltide events. Then, you need to keep an eye on when Helltides spawn and ready your group for action. From here, follow the steps below to get Forgotten Souls at a frightening pace.

• Head to a Helltide with your group as soon as it spawns, and spread out, looking for Screaming Hell Veins.
• Once a member of your group finds a Screaming Hell Vein, don't click on it. Instead, this member tells the others to teleport back in town.
• The person who found the Screaming Hell Vein now gathers it, getting a bunch of Forgotten Souls.
• Now, one of the party members in town teleports to the player via their Town Portal. Rinse and repeat.

With this farming trick, the player who finds the Screaming Hell Vein gets x4 the Forgotten Souls, as they also loot every time a player from their party comes in to get theirs.

We suggest avoiding fighting or jealousy, that you rotate which player gets the x4 loot!

But where do Screaming Hell Veins spawn during Helltides? You can use GamerGuides' awesome map tool and select "crafting materials" to get the locations for any possible Ore Vein spawn. Keep in mind that during Helltides, any of these spawn points can produce a Screaming Hell Vein!
