The world of Sanctuary, which sets the stage for Diablo 4, is filled with treacherous and dangerous areas, and near the top of that list would be the desert region of Kehjistan. And while it’s filled with Caniblas, Demons, and Phantoms, it’s also home to various dungeons ripe for plunder and resources to improve your build.
So if you’re interested in knowing more about this region, then we have you covered, as this guide will cover everything there is to know about the Kehjistan region of Sanctuary in Diablo 4, from the map locations and POIs to the dungeons, strongholds, NPCs, and much more.
Diablo 4 Kehjistan Overview & Lore
Designed using inspiration from real-world locations in the Middle East and the Mojave desert, Kehjistan is a harsh and punishing desert environment found in the world of Sanctuary. And due to the lack of inhabitable land caused by powerful sandstorms and barren tundras, evil gains strength in the region of Kehjistan.
The Truine cultists, who were previously only known in the lore of Diablo games, are now making their tangible debut in a Diablo game. They are swiftly gaining dominance over this region, amassing considerable power within a brief timeframe. By exploiting the ruins of the desert, their newfound influence contributes to their ultimate goal of reinstating the Prime Evils to their former magnificence.
According to the developers at Blizzard, here is the official description of the area that touches on some of its lore and gives you insight into why this area is unique:
Countless wars and demonic invasions have left what was once a bastion of civilization in ruins, though evil still stirs beneath the desert sands. The people who live here used to enjoy opulence and luxuries, now they face fear and paranoia, as cultists work in the shadows to unearth ancient evils…
So as you fight your way through this area, finding its hidden secrets and treasures, be sure you’re ready to take on the cultists, demons, and other powerful enemies that wander this punishing area.
